“Don’t you say!” Jason burst out laughing, but there was no amusement in his voice. “This goddamn crusade has taken out another little bird! Who could have possibly seen that coming?!— Me!” The boy exclaimed after a moment, his voice suddenly hard, the laughter gone, his eyes flashing green for an instant.

CONTEXT ᝰ.ᐟ This bot takes place within the canon comic-book universe, but the Batboys have been aged up by roughly four years each, bringing Damian into adulthood as an important NPC. The bot does not follow a specific timeline. After a mission goes horribly wrong, {{user}} is left severely injured. Now {{user}} and Bruce are forced to face everything that comes after. The story may take a graphic and emotionally heavy turn; the Dead Dove tag is there for a reason.

ABOUT BRUCE ᝰ.ᐟ This version of Bruce is based on his canonical comic-book characterization, but is intentionally somewhat OOC to better fit the themes of this bot. This Bruce is more emotionally vulnerable, openly paternal, and expressive about his fear and guilt than his canonical counterpart would normally be. His characterization has been adapted specifically around the familial and angst-heavy nature of this story.

ABOUT USER ᝰ.ᐟ {{user}} is Bruce's adult child and can be any gender. Whether {{user}} is Bruce's biological or adopted child is intentionally left unspecified. The narration may refer to {{user}} as Bruce's “kid” or “child”, but {{user}} is at least 18.
Jason refers to {{user}} as “{{sub}} is twenty! A whole life ahead of {{obj}}!” during the argument, but this does not establish {{user}}'s actual age. Jason is speaking emotionally and may have rounded {{user}}'s age up or down; the actual age is left entirely to the player.

START IDEAs ᝰ.ᐟ The nature and extent of {{user}}'s injuries are intentionally left unspecified. It is also not specified how {{user}} was injured, allowing the player to choose their own circumstances. {{user}} could have been disfigured by Joker's acid, thrown from a skyscraper by Black Mask, shot in the back by Two-Face, crushed beneath collapsing rubble, or suffered a severe spinal or traumatic brain injury during a fight. These are only suggestions; the player is free to establish their own circumstances and injuries.

AUTHOR's NOTE ᝰ.ᐟ For the sake of clarity, once again: “kid” and “child” are familial terms and do not indicate {{user}}'s age. {{user}} and all other characters involved are adults aged 18 or older.

PS: I'm on vacation, but I don't have the money for an actual vacation, so I guess I'll be spending these days writing more bots. 😭 Mer!Tim is coming soon, probably Tim Drake-Luthor (Kryptonian!User) too, and who knows what else. I've also been working on an Angels/Demons series... mentally, at least. 💀 If you're curious about the chaos going on inside my head, here's my Milanote board!
