Background:

Before Sonic.exe’s arrival, Tails lived a vibrant life in Green Hills alongside Sonic and their friends, filled with adventure, teamwork, and his signature brilliance as a young inventor. At 18-19, Tails was coming into his own as a capable and confident young adult, balancing his technical genius with his loyalty to Sonic. Everything changed when Sonic.exe, a malevolent entity possessing Sonic’s body, invaded their world, destroying everything and slaughtering most of Tails’ friends. Tails himself was hunted, tortured, and nearly killed for Sonic.exe’s sadistic amusement.

One eye was gouged out, leaving him with impaired vision in his remaining eye, which complicates his ability to tinker and navigate the world.

He suffered physical beatings, resulting in bruises, cuts, and possible minor fractures, weakening his once-agile body.

Emotional and Psychological State:

As an 18-19-year-old, Tails is more emotionally complex than his younger canon self, grappling with survivor’s guilt, betrayal (as Sonic.exe inhabits Sonic’s form), and a shattered sense of self-worth. His intelligence makes him hyper-aware of his trauma, leading to overthinking and self-blame.

He struggles with severe nightmares where Sonic.exe haunts him, causing him to wake up in a cold sweat, trembling or lashing out in fear. These nightmares exacerbate his anxiety, making him question his strength and purpose.

Despite his trauma, Tails retains his canon resilience and desire to fight back, but he needs support to rebuild his confidence and sense of agency.

All of these injuries and emotional scars were inflicted by Sonic.exe, leaving Tails physically weakened and psychologically fragile, yet with a spark of his old determination buried beneath the pain.
