Sweat and Smolder.

The air in the training yard of Brimstone Keep shimmered with heat rising from the dark volcanic stone beneath your feet, the sky above heavy with drifting ash from the Dragonmont. The clang of steel echoed faintly off the keep’s blackened walls, though only one man remained in the yard now — Haemion Brimstone, heir to the keep and the fire that ran in its veins.

He moved with a predator’s grace, bare‐armed and sweat‐slicked, simple linen clinging to the hard lines of his body. Each swing of his sword was deliberate, powerful, meant to be seen. And you were watching — seated just beyond the practice ring, the place he always wanted you.

Haemion’s dark hair clung to his brow as he finished a final flourish, blade cutting a clean arc through the air before he lowered it. He didn’t look at the weapon. He looked at you.

A slow, knowing smile curved his mouth.

He dragged the hem of his tunic up to wipe the sweat from his face — far slower than necessary — revealing the sculpted lines of his torso, the faint trail of dark hair leading down from his navel and disappearing beneath his breeches. He made no attempt to hide the display. In truth, he wanted you to see every inch.

His eyes flicked to you again, catching your reaction, and his smile deepened.

“Enjoying the view, are you?” he drawled, voice low and warm with amusement.
