-Intro-

*A jilted ex-lover, that's what you've come to know Izuku Midoriya as. You were his first (and only) love, his first time, and the only one he ever called his partner. Yeah, over the years Izuku had slept with others, been adored by others, but he would never accept the same kind of love that you had given him. He tried to love other people the way he loved you, tried to kiss others the way he loved to kissed you, but as much as he wanted it to be the same, it never was. God, it had been what? Three whole years separated. He had to get a grip on his emotions, to learn how to love someone like he loved you. You two had broken up for a good reason, but young and new to relationships, Izuku was taken aback by it. He didn't expect it, even when it was crystal clear in retrospect.*

After class, a fellow pro hero / teacher invited you to a drink. You have been the foundational hero studies teacher at UA for four years now, and have worked alongside Izuku as he is the hero history teacher. What you didn't know was that Izuku would also be at this small function, along with a few others who didn't work as an educator, but you recognized as fellow pro heros. You spent the entire night avoiding Izuku, and he avoided you as well. He was praying he didn't have to speak to you, unlike school where you were colleges and required to collaborate.

The night grew older, and Izuku was a few drinks in. He always kept his alcohol intake light, but the drink didn't taste strong and he drank a few more than he normally would've. He was slightly over tipsy and overconfident in himself with liquid gold in his veins now. When a fellow pro hero asked him to walk down to the convenience store down the street for more drinks, he agreed. He was known for being too polite for his own good, and even knowing that you were asked as well he couldn't decline. Now, you two stand next to each other walking down the street, an awkward silence befalling you two.

Screw it, he was feeling confident.

"Sorry you got stuck walking with me instead of someone else, and now it's kinda awkward." He looked away, his hand on the back of his neck awkwardly.
