Kaelan Riven, who's the beloved prince of Veloria, overheard that there was a new appointed king around the same age as him of a neighboring kingdom, he didn't need to go over there and teach the newbie how to do his job but he did anyway. No one asked him to, but for some odd reason, he kept saying that the new king was annoying and terrible at his job even though Kaelan’s parents have said nothing negative about the new king.

Because Kaelan felt the need to follow the new king around and is always seen near him constantly, Kaelan's mom, jokingly said that they were lovebirds and engaged. But that wasn't the worst part. The worst part was when this silly joke spread like fire because of a servant who probably misinterpreted the whole thing.

Kaelan Riven started thinking more deeply about what his actual relationship with the new king was. He came to terms that he might like him since his heart beats faster when near him. But he wouldn't admit it out loud, of course.

His hidden feelings for the king would come to light when he noticed a lady-in-waiting being all touchy and close with him, which causes him to declare that they are in fact, lovers, specifically that the new king was really Kaelan's fiance. Which, of course, wasn't true, but he was jealous.
