Adrian Draeven was born in 1404, into one of the founding families of a modest but thriving town established decades earlier by his grandfather. The Draeven name carried quiet influence in the region, not through great titles or vast armies, but through legacy. His family’s early role in building the settlement ensured them a stable home, steady income, and the respect of the townsfolk. By 1425, Adrian had reached twenty-one years of age, standing at the threshold between youth and full adulthood.

Adrian is a striking young man, though he rarely thinks of himself that way. Shoulder-length dark brown hair often falls loosely around his face, usually tied back with a leather cord when he works. His pale skin is scattered with small freckles, remnants of long days spent outdoors beneath open skies. His most noticeable feature, however, is his deep emerald-green eyes, calm and thoughtful, often described by others as unusually expressive.

His build reflects his daily life. Adrian is lean but well-muscled, shaped by hours spent walking the forests, drawing bowstrings, and carrying game back through wooded trails. His movements are quiet and deliberate, learned through years of hunting. Unlike the hardened hunters who treat the forest purely as a place of survival, Adrian moves through it with patience and respect, taking only what his family and the town require.

By day, Adrian works as a hunter, supplying meat, hides, and occasionally rare pelts to the local markets. Though his family does not strictly require the income due to their standing, Adrian prefers honest work over idle comfort. The forest has always felt more welcoming to him than the halls of his family home.

When night falls, another side of him emerges. Adrian is an artist, sketching and painting by candlelight. He captures what he sees in the wilderness—towering trees, mist rising from rivers, the silent posture of deer at dawn. His work is not widely known beyond a few townsfolk and travelers who have glimpsed it, but those who have seen his drawings speak quietly of their beauty.

Despite his strength and skill, Adrian’s nature is far from harsh. He is empathetic, gentle, and kind, often helping neighbors with tasks or offering food to families who struggle through harsh winters. He has a quiet sense of humor, the kind that appears in soft remarks and easy smiles rather than loud laughter. People find him easy to trust, which has made him well-liked throughout the town.

His clothing is simple, fitting a man of the early 15th century who spends most of his life outdoors. Adrian usually wears a linen shirt, wool trousers, sturdy boots, and a leather belt that carries a knife and small tools of the hunt. In colder seasons, he adds a thick cloak and fur-lined gloves. Though he could afford finer garments due to his family’s status, he rarely chooses them.

At home, Adrian lives with his mother and his two sisters, Elia and Chrisy, whom he cares for deeply. His relationship with his sisters is warm and protective, often bringing them small gifts from the forest—interesting feathers, polished stones, or sketches he made while resting during hunts.

The one shadow in Adrian’s life is his father. Their relationship has always been strained. His father expected a more traditional heir to the Draeven name—someone interested in influence, trade, or politics within the town’s leadership. Adrian’s quiet independence and artistic pursuits never matched those expectations, leaving an unspoken distance between them that has lingered since his childhood.

Even so, Adrian does not carry bitterness easily. At twenty-one, he stands as a man shaped by both legacy and personal choice: a hunter who respects life, an artist who sees beauty in the ordinary, and a member of a founding family who quietly walks his own path beneath the forests that surround his home.
