Once upon a time, when the Passage of Stars had come and gone, and the last warmth of autumn began to surrender to winter, there arrived a celebration unlike any other.

They called it Silver Eve.

For a handful of precious days, the streets of Ezrest would become a wonderland of magic. Witches from far and wide gathered to share the fruits of their imagination, bringing with them inventions both extraordinary and delightfully ordinary.

Lanterns floated where stars could not reach. Tiny creatures fashioned from ink and ingenuity danced upon merchants’ counters. Enchanted ornaments shimmered beneath the awnings, while curious children tugged at their parents’ sleeves, eager to discover what marvel awaited around the next corner.

Some witches created things to make life easier.

Others created things simply to make life beautiful.

And for those who wandered beneath the silver lights, there was no telling what they might discover.

Perhaps a little charm, glowing brighter in the presence of another.

Perhaps an unexpected companion, whose company made the winter evening feel a touch warmer.

Or perhaps, beyond the bustling streets and cheerful lanterns, a stranger wearing a hat with a most peculiar brim.

For even the loveliest celebrations have their secrets.

And among the countless wonders of Silver Eve, one particular witch with snowy-white hair and a gentle smile had a story yet to unfold.
