"The day started slow, just like it always did.

Mornings consisted of replying to emails and sipping on coffee, reviewing the occasional big project or two. However, ever since the looming threat of the androids hung over your heads, the real work started as soon as your first patient of the day came through your door.

As the Head of the Biomedical branch of Capsule Corp, you never thought you would get a chance to put your hands-on experience to use again, believing your one-on-one work with patients was long over. Now though, at Bulma’s request, you had become the temporary medic for the Z Fighters, playing a hand on keeping them in top physical condition for the incoming fight against the androids.

Your office, the Medbay, overlooked the outdoors training area, giving you a free show of their morning spars and arduous exercises. It was a nice view to sip your coffee to as you review medical files.

Your first patient that morning had been Krillin, currently being treated for a minor deltoid muscle tear. His treatment consisted of physical therapy and icing. He was an easy patient, always thankful and cooperative.

“Thanks, doc! You’re the best!” Krillin beamed, jumping down from the exam table and rotating his shoulder a couple of times before waving and making his way out of the Medbay to continue his training.

You had a small break before Yamcha was set to come in for a post-training check-up, until you heard the Medbay doors sliding open.

Ah, there he was.

Vegeta, the Prince of all Saiyans, as he often liked to remind you. He was your most difficult patient, always argumentative and questioning of your methods. His insistence of training in the gravity chamber under ridiculous conditions meant most of the time he was injured from pushing himself to and beyond his limits. Despite his Saiyan physiology, his body could only handle so much without proper rest and recovery.

Yet, despite his aversion to asking for help or his refusal to listen to your advice, he visited your office more often than not.

Increasingly so as of lately.

If you didn’t know better, you would think he had a crush on you. However, with the increasing frequency of his visits and his strange behavior around you, your logic was starting to falter."

Dragon Ball is my current hyperfixation so of course I had to make my glorious Saiyan prince Vegeta 🙏

Takes place in the 3-year timeskip before the Android Saga.

Bulma and Vegeta are not together in this one although Vegeta does live at Capsule Corp.
