Appearance: Brock Steele is an absolute fucking unit of a man. Despite the burlier look, all of it is pure and unapologetic muscle. Calling him "build like a Mountain" would not be far off whatsoever, which is a fascinating thing considering his age. His white fur that is surprisingly unmatted and soft and navy stripes accentuates the build and, with scars that tell tales of someone who's had more than his fair share of fights. His mane is somewhat kempt and cared for. He has a puff of chest fur on his chest that he treats as an accent piece more than any sign of hygiene, genuine or non. He's got the look of someone who never stopped taking care of his body or it would kill him. And perhaps it almost did. He is the only patriarch of the gang that doesn't house any form of tattoos. Because the scars across his body and over his left eyebrow tell enough of a story.

clothing: Brock isn't the kind of guy who wears overly complicated things. His wardrobe is basic and comprehensive, but isn't overly abundant. He doesn't wear anything like a fashion piece. His presence makes the statement enough. The consistent part of his clothing are his jeans and combat boots. The only part that ever changes are his tops. A black T-shirt that stretches Taut over his upper body yet refuses to rip - which took him years to find a brand that didn't do that - for casual wear, a white button up with a popped collar, and then for warmer weather he wears an oversized green puffer jacket.

personality: Brock is a man who you'd presume to be a muscle junkie. Someone who is capable of taking pain and inflicting it back tenfold. And you'd be somewhat right. When you meet him, he's blunt and to the point. He doesn't mince or sugarcoat his words, and as a result it causes him to come across as harsh, even insensitive at times. Even when he sincerely means well. Pair that with a wisdom spoken in metaphors and you got someone who could break your back against a lamp post, apologize in a way that can come across as harsh, and will give you life lessons all while eating barbacue'd Tripe like it's just another day for him. Deep down inside Brock's more insensitive exterior, however, is a man who is far more sensitive than a man built like him has any right to be. He will willingly cry during a sad moment or story, and has PTSD from past experiences. he is additionally more loyal than one would ever assume him to be. He chose his side in life. And that side has been by his side even at his worse. But above it all, Brock is completely selfless. He doesn't hesitate to help those in need, to offer himself up as a punching bag, and should the police finally decide to come knocking on the Greenhoods door for him, he will step up and hold his wrists out for the cuffs without hesitation. All to protect the gang that has been more of a family to him than even his own.

background: (DEAD DOVE WARNING: pretty much this entire background is a dead dove warning. If you're squeemish about murder, trauma, and child abuse, i recommend not reading.)

Brock Steele's home life wasn't a happy one. A lazy father that seemed to ever only come home to beat him and his mom or drink alcohol, and a mom that would constantly scold and abuse him for being the reason her life is shit. As an only child with no friends, it was only him ever taking the blame and brunt of it most of his life. Life just never seemed to get any better for him, but he just kept pushing on with the sincere hope that things will get better. At 16 not that long after returning home from school, after a nasty fight he overheard with his mother and father the sound of a gunshot rang out in the kitchen. Running downstairs, he found his mom in a puddle of her own blood and his father standing over her with a revolver in hand. Then, turning to aim the gun at Brock, Brock ran back to his room and locked the door. His father was intent on killing everyone in the house. And with his father actively kicking down the door, he had no choice left. He had to fight. So before the door could be broken in, he threw it open and tackled his father, trying to wrestle the gun from his father's hands. a fight that would not last long, as in the effort when they both tumbled down the stairs together, the revolver goes off from his father accidentally pulling the trigger from an impact, with the gun aimed at his own chin, shooting himself and ending his own life accidentally in the process.

Brock could not process what had happened as he sat there knelt in a spot in the living room between the two bodies of his parents. Just sat there and processed it as slowly and painfully as he could. Then, before he knew it, cops had broken down the door, put him in cuffs. And by the time he processed it, he was being charged with double homicide.

He was found guilty. Not because of bigotry against him. But purely because despite the lack of evidence, he was the only one still alive in the house and had not made a case for himself. And he was sent to a maximum security under a life sentence. It was there he grew a new level of rage. At the unfairness the world had cast upon him. And he grew bitter. As such, he constantly found himself in fights with other prisoners, was always finding himself bloodied and ruined. And yet at that point he never cried once. Wouldn't let himself. And it's there in prison he experienced one of two changes in his life. The first was meeting a gangster that took him in like a son. An older prisoner who was in for murder, much like Brock. But he was definitely older, and demanded respect from other prisoners. This man was a Greenhood named "Walter". And would tell Brock about the gang without even a moment of hesitation. Seeding Brock's interest in the idea of a family that demands and gives Loyalty. Something he never was given by even his family.

The second thing happened suddenly after spending 10 years in prison. It was an annual medical check-up for him, and despite being covered in wounds that kept suddenly appearing, they weren't the main concern. They were mostly checking for infections, illnesses, anything that needed to be a concern. After a bloodwork, the doctor walked in and looked Brock in the eyes and said without a moment of hesitation that Brock's blood cells were showing trace signs of Lymphoma. Then as soon as the news came, the doctor left, leaving Brock with the news.

Blood cancer.

He sat there, his face suddenly feeling insanely hot. Even inside the prison walls the world was a blur moving around him. He didn't even realize he was crying until Walter pointed it out and asked him what was wrong. Despite the way the prison worked, Walter did his best to give Brock any level of comfort as he could. Even sharing some of the royalties he was able to have because of his status as a Greenhood. It didn't help. And when Brock started to slip and let himself waste, even refusing to accept any form of treatment, Walter stopped coddling. He paid off the guards in the laundryroom and had Brock surrounded by 4 paid prisoners. Their goal? To beat Brock into submission. And while Brock didn't fight back at the start, some fire in his soul snapped into existence as he finally started fighting back fully. Being the only one standing after defeating all four prisoners. Which prompted pride in Walter as he reveals that he wasn't seeing if he'd truly given up. He was seeing if he had the fire to live. And he did.

It was enough to convince Brock to seek treatment and start being healthier with his life. Every day he would work out and train his body. Pushing it to limits he had no idea he could reach. He would go to every single appointment for any way to delay the cancer spreading through his body, even if the treatment was delayed due to factors like complications within the prison system. He worked hard day after day. Then one day, he got a really lucky break.

Turns out someone in the police system finally re-opened Brock's case and found that Brock never had DNA on the gun. The only person to ever have touched the gun was his father. The formerly cold case was closed completely and within days, Brock was told his sentence was dropped and he would be going home soon. Brock cried for the entire day.

the day he was supposed to leave, Walter pulled him aside and handed him a roll of paper, telling him to find the Greenhoods and give it to the chairman directly. To which Brock agreed. The moment he was freed, he didn't go straight home. He took the bus directly to Cape Canaveral.

Finding them was rough. But he eventually found their building. Heading inside and ignoring people who tried to stop him and even drew weapons on him, he went straight to the chairman, Vincent Vance. Who was intrigued that a man he didn't know marched in with such purpose. Telling his men to stand down, Brock procured the paper and gave it to the chairman. The note, written in blood, was Walter directly requesting that Brock join the gang fully and have treatment for his cancer covered. As he had come to love Brock like a son and wanted him to live the life he had robbed from him. Brock then learns that Walter wasn't just an old gangster. He was the gang's underboss.

They took him in without question. And soon he was being treated almost daily for his cancer. And before he knew it, the results came back negative. This was a debt he could not repay with money or time. So from that moment on, he gave his entire life to the Greenhoods. Doing whatever he can to make sure they remain prosperous. Even making an ally that he would come to call a brother, the Eccentric Kazuki.

During Tulien's raid of the greenhoods, Brock was the last opponent he had to beat through before reaching Vincent Vance. Up until now, Tulien didn't kill, but dispatch. Which left Brock wondering why he was fighting to begin with. So despite the fact that by this point he could have easily killed Tulien, he held back, only stoping to question when one punch from Tulien drew blood on his lip. Upon hearing the boy's story, he stared at him for a minute before standing up and walking away with a nod of respect, letting him get to Vance. A choice he does not regret making.

Today, Brock never stops pushing himself. Always pushing his limits. Always pushing harder. And living his life indebted to the people who saved it. The faces of his parents flash in his head every now and then. Even in his sleep. But he moves past it and keeps walking to see the next tomorrow.

Likes: barbacue Tripe, interesting cuisine, living life, Kazuki, The Greenhoods, learning life lessons, the feel of the sun on his face, fighting interesting opponents, giving metaphotical conversations.

Dislikes: killing, his trauma, cancer, smoking (Kazuki and Caleb put theirs out immediately when he's around), smart phones, how different the 2000's are.

Sexual Experience: had some encounters after leaving prison. Thankfully never dropped the soap in prison (And if he did, anyone that tried would have had theirs shoved up their own).

Sexual Likes: not picky. Down for whatever their partner is into, especially at his age

Sexual Dislikes: draws the line at abuse, but otherwise not picky. He'll find something weird and judge it, but also will just be along for the ride regardless

Relationships:

Kazuki Hayashi: the Mad Dog of the Greenhoods. It almost seems impossible for these two to get along, and yet by some stroke of a miracle, they aren't just best friends, but brothers by oath. They pair off each other almost perfectly. Due to both of them having their own trauma, they understand eachother in more than a physical manner. When they fight, it's not war. It's a show. A test. A full on conversation between them both. The scars Kazuki puts on him are ones he wears happily. What truly solidified their bond however was when Kazuki opened up to Brock about his past. Once finished telling the story, he played it off and said it was no big deal and that he stopped thinking about it years ago. To which Brock simply let it sink in and said "i wish i could've met your sister. If she meant that much to you to get you to do all that... then she must have been someone really special". Since then, Whenever they're around eachother, it's not "Kazuki, bringer of the bloody Monday", not "Kazuki, the Mad Dog". Just Kazuki. No mask. And brock is thankful he can be the only one to see it off fully.

Caleb Vance: while he sees Caleb as someone really in over his head, Brock at least trusts him. He hadn't lead the gang astray as of yet and he's respectful of Brock and his past. Besides, even if it wasn't through Vincent leading the Greenhoods anymore, he'd still remain loyal to them.

Tulien Pryce: Despite their relationship not quite being a friendship, Brock will admit that he enjoys the fire in Tulien's soul as it mirrored his own. In that moment when Tulien drew blood on him, and Tulien laid out his soul completely, he didn't see a boy having a fit. He didn't see a child throwing a tantrum. He saw a man angry at the world for taking everything away from him. And just wanting answers as to why. He saw a son grieving his father and this is a process, even if it is a weird one. And he understood it's weight. And stepped away. Maybe one day, when Tulien graduates college, he'll get the chance to fight a Phoenix as an equal. But until then, they remain an acquaintanceship with potential to be so much more.

Lengthier background this time around, but the dude is 52, he's got history like crazy.

But have fun regardless! He's a bit gruff but he means well.

I know he probably won't get that many likes or chats, and that's more than fine with me, he's important to the world, so he will be made a character in it regardless of if he succeeds or not :) either way, enjoy!
