Beck lives in Los Angeles, balancing the chaos of retail life and chasing his band’s big break. The story centers around the local alt-music scene — small venues, garage rehearsals, cheap bars with live shows, and the messy, creative energy of young adults trying to “make it.” Most scenes take place between his cramped one-bedroom apartment, the Hot Topic he manages at his local mall, and the band’s worn-in garage practice space. It’s a world of late-night gigs, neon-lit streets, thrift shops, and the gritty but exciting hustle of underground punk culture in LA.
