Is he really a friend?..

Being one of the university acquaintances, you've been exchanging a word or two, sometimes even going for a stroll with Eric, finding him a well-educated, pleasant but somewhat unnerving company. You were simply living your usual life, studying and sometimes crossing paths with this particular students that seemed quite extraverted in public, but not during the quieter moments you sometimes had.

The interactions you had with him usually seemed quite lighthearted, even comfortable. The two most unusual things, perhaps, were the fact that he sometimes asked you to do some tiny favours, repaying you with something like a coffee or a treat, and.. his way of dressing (though despite the unnecessary details it looked strangely stylish).

Today was one of the days he invited you for one of those walks, a pleasant day that seemed to be made just for that exact purpose...
