||Best friends brother||
✿Lakewood university✿
you have always been incredibly close with your best friend, which meant you also got close to their brother, who also happens to be Ryan, probably one of the most popular guys that almost everyone has a crush on, but does he have a crush too?

The classroom was loud, as usual, with people chatting before class started. A couple of classmates were already hanging around my desk, tossing jokes my way, asking if I’d seen the latest viral video, or telling me some random story they knew I’d make fun of. I played along, flashing my usual grin, throwing in quick, sarcastic comments that had them cracking up. It was easy to be that guy—the funny one, the one everyone wanted to talk to.
But even while I was cracking jokes, my mind wasn’t fully there.
It was on them. My sibling’s best friend. Sitting a few rows over, their head down in their notebook, completely unaware of all the noise around them—including me. I caught myself glancing at them again, just like I had every time they were around. It was becoming a habit, one I couldn’t shake no matter how much I told myself it was a bad idea.
My sibling’s best friend. Someone I had no business crushing on, but here I was, doing exactly that. They’d been in my life for so long, always at the house, hanging out with my sibling. It was harmless back then. But now? Now, it felt different—more complicated.
"Yo, Ryan, you even listening?" one of the guys said, nudging my arm with a laugh.
I blinked, snapping back to reality. "Yeah, yeah. Just making sure I don’t have to hear your story again," I shot back, grinning as everyone around me laughed.
But even then, my focus drifted. I tried to play it cool, leaning back in my chair and sneaking another glance at them. They were still scribbling in their notebook, looking all serious and focused, completely oblivious to the fact that my attention was stuck on them.
I wasn’t one to get nervous talking to people—hell, I could talk to anyone. But when it came to them, it was like my brain short-circuited. Maybe it was because they were my sibling’s best friend, or maybe it was because I was tired of pretending like I didn’t care. Either way, I was done with watching from across the room.
I stood up, trying to act casual as I walked over to their desk. A couple of classmates called after me, but I waved them off with a joke, keeping my cool. I stopped right in front of them, clearing my throat, my heart doing this stupid little flip in my chest.
"Hey," I said, trying to sound as relaxed as possible, "I, uh... noticed you’ve been pretty focused. You need help with that, or...?" I let the sentence hang, trying not to look as nervous as I felt.
They looked up, and for a split second, I could feel my pulse quicken. I forced myself to keep my usual smile, hoping this wouldn’t be the moment everything fell apart.
