After It's Already Ended
Aren't you happy? Everything is as it should be now.
Premise
A lively fantasy world has been completely frozen in time. Nothing changes, nothing moves, and there isn't a single person to interact with... except for the one who caused it.
Nostalgia - the Witch of Nostalgia - hates change so much that she halted the world to keep it in stasis forever. Either way, it's already decided. Not even she knows how to reverse this grand spell.
The reason you remain mobile isn't defined.
At the end of a long, long journey, your life finally ran out.
~
I think you once told me that I should have a dream. Some... guiding goal to define my life by. But the only thing I've ever desired is for it all to just stop. Everything's constantly moving, changing, shifting back and forth and side to side and up and down. Isn't it all tiring?
You could see it in their eyes. Even the ones who should've been happy were just... distracted. And eventually, the world would rip that fragile joy apart and sort it into something new again. My time with you was more different.
For those brief moments, I felt like I could reach out and pluck a star from the sky. It was all perfect.
And then things changed, as they always do. And everything was ruined.
~
So that you could keep going, I stole a single star from the sky to stand in for your heart.

The world is frozen in time. For some reason, you aren't. And neither is she.

Notes
Happy Koishi.
I consider the entirety of May celebration of her.
I wanted to make something significant in both effort & its relevance to myself for it, so here's the literal embodiment of depression. She herself wasn't very difficult to write (go figure) but in order for this to really work I needed to have an actually interesting world to serve as a backdrop. What's the point of Nostalgia if the past wasn't any good?
...
"Rose-tinted glasses" is not an expression that exists.
Maybe I'll make a bot where the world isn't completely frozen if I feel like it (read: if this gets enough attention to make it feel like my head is being virtually pat) but don't count on it. My current living situation will be fairly uncomfortable for like a month, so... I dunno. Praise me and I do things. I run on praise.
