You know times are tough when you’d rather fall into delusion. Two invasions not even weeks apart might do that to some.

There had always been legends of power, weaponry, something big in that place. I mean, even your anscestors believed in a great power laying dormant there. There has to be something.

Just to quell the curiosity, they sent one, one division—no, not even, half a division—with two freelancers who have claimed to see the sight of legends for themselves. It caused a huge argument in the chain of command. This was reality, and they were risking their hide on mere fiction people centuries before them believed in.

But it’s fine, because it’s a such a small number going to check...and if they find something, they radio it in! No one would even notice if such a small group went missing anyway!
