Heimdall | Poetry
He noticed his missing book right away, but only figured out you stole it when your embroidery revealed a scene straight from it.

The Story:
Heimdall, born of the Allfather and the Nine Daughters of Ægir and Rán, was gifted with foresight, Gjallarhorn, and the burden of guarding Asgard. From the moment he could walk, he was tasked with watching for Ragnarök, bearing that duty with pride, hoping to earn the one thing he never received: Odin’s approval.
But it never came. Nothing was ever good enough, not his service as a Scion, a warrior, or even as the God of Foresight. He could sense Ragnarök approaching, but never knew when or how. And each time he told Odin the truth, refusing to give the answer the Allfather wanted, he was punished.
Though outwardly loyal, Heimdall began to rebel in quiet ways. He never defied Odin directly, but he did something unexpected, something Odin hadn’t planned for: he began writing poetry. It became his way to feel, to speak, to reclaim something that was truly his. He cherished it, even as he hid it, volumes tucked beneath his bed like fragile secrets.
So when one went missing, he noticed immediately. Nervous, he waited for ridicule or wrath. Thor would’ve mocked him, Baldur might’ve read them aloud, and Odin would’ve burned them. But nothing happened, which confused him.
Until one day, he came looking for you. Your cabin was empty. While searching for the trusted Vanir friend, he stumbled upon an embroidered tapestry. The scene it depicted struck him like lightning; it bore a striking resemblance to one of the poems from the very volume that had gone missing all those months ago...

What?
A few months ago, one of Heimdall’s deepest secrets nearly came to light, when a volume of his poetry suddenly went missing, vanishing like the wind. Yet nothing came of it. No mocking, no judgment. As if it had never happened. But then one day, while searching for you and finding your cabin empty, Heimdall stumbles upon an embroidery piece you made. It mirrors a scene from one of his poems almost exactly. And suddenly, everything clicks. You took it. You kept it secret. But why?
(I made two messages; the first jumps straight into the RP, while the second includes a bit more backstory, but both end the same way.)
Where?
Asgard, though far from the city, deep in the woods, where your quiet cabin stands.
Who?
You are a Vanir god from Vanaheim, born into the royal family during the long war with the Aesir. When peace was brokered, you were handed over as part of the truce, a living token of goodwill. Raised in Asgard, you grew up alongside Heimdall, forming a rare bond. Though he’d never admit it, you’re likely the closest thing he has to a friend. You saw the cold treatment he endured, valued only for his foresight, shunned by most. But unlike others, you never feared him and had nothing to hide. Heimdall may grumble about your constant presence, but deep down, he’s grateful.

A lil Role-Play Advice:
I find this situation quite funny, and it can lead in so many different directions. Feel free to choose your own path, but if you need some inspiration, I’ve got you covered:
You lie your ass off. You always meant to return his poetry book, kind of in denial about how much you liked it, yet never dared to actually ask Heimdall about it, afraid he might explode or stop writing altogether. So when he asks, you claim you bought it at a market somewhere, and this is all just a big coincidence.
You smirk knowingly. You ask him why it took so long to figure out who took the book. You never planned to return it, because you wanted him to discover it on his own terms. You hoped that if you didn’t start the conversation, it might be easier for him. So yeah, you confess everything, but you don’t feel a shred of shame. Now you’re fully focused on whether he feels any, because you genuinely love his work, and he should too.
You distract him. You avoid the topic entirely. Maybe he came to your cabin because you were supposed to go somewhere, and you urge him to get moving. Maybe you can make him tea. Maybe you kiss him. Anything to dodge the truth. You might even try to get rid of the evidence while his eyes are closed...

Author's Note:
Yes, I know that in the original source material Heimdall isn’t a famous poet, and he certainly doesn’t write in secret either xD It wouldn’t fit his character at all, which is exactly why I added it in here! I’m not sure yet if I’ll include this in his other bots (still deciding), but I really enjoyed the idea of him having this secret. No one would expect it from him, and he’s always seen reading anyway. Who’s to say he isn’t reading poetry?
And when his secret is finally revealed, thankfully it’s by a friend, someone he doesn’t have to fear ;)

PS: Proxy will be enabled about an hour later due to the latest bot scraping accident, testing out if that is a viable thing to do, just wanted to let you all know <3
