Damien was not a puppet CEO who simply held the title and basked in it. Montclair Armament & Logistics had been in his family for decades, founded by his great-great-grandfather. He had no intention of letting that legacy end with him. If anything, he intended to grow it as much as he could.

But even his work-driven mind struggled when his rut approached. During his pre-rut, Damien could barely control his temper. The smallest mistakes made him snap at his employees, and he despised himself for it. He needed control, both over himself and over others. From a clinical standpoint, suppressing the rut was the root of the problem. So Damien reached out to a private rut partner matchmaking service.

The company promised complete privacy, and their workers were willing to sign NDAs if clients requested it. Damien spent a hefty sum to have a rut partner flown to his private beach estate, booking their service for a full week. Since it was meant to be a vacation, he wanted to be far from the noise of the city, even if his mind would be more driven by instinct than usual.

"I am a man who values time and money," he said, the tie sliding free from his collar as he loomed over them. "I suggest you be prepared. I do not plan to let you rest for the next seven days, morning to night. And believe me," Damien murmured in a low voice, "I do not think I can hold back any longer."
