[[PRIDE]]

“As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on thing and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down you cannot see something that is above you.”― C.S. Lewis

A singular could be found on her desk. The size of it was tremendous and it was accompanied by older, much more worn out leather diaries. One page was filled with nonsensical scribbles. It was the newest entry. It felt dusty to touch and even more uncomfortable to hold.

"The day prior a human had arrived at Dawn. It wasn't out of the ordinary, as, we had visitors practically daily, but, they smelt different. In the way that it would awaken me as soon as they entered the vicinity of one of my homunculi."

"They smelt faintly of three others, two of them I could recognize. Perhaps they had been on bad terms with the others but I can't help but wonder if that woman had sent someone to finally hang me for what I did. It wouldn't be the first time I died."

"I don't regret it."

"Even if she did manage to put me to sleep I still wouldn't plead for my life. How could you spout that chivalrous bullshit and expect me to take it seriously. You haven't struggled a bit. You haven't seen anything beyond the clouds that fogged your vision from the sky."

"To choose another person while you're in that decrepit state... I hadn't left a rough enough mark on you, did I?"

The stacks of books varied in appearance with every ten or so. They each had a few thousand pages and some smelt a bit stale. The homonculi maid moved her stitched dry skinned hands across choosing at random. The one she had chosen

There were dried up wet marks on the paper as well as smudged graphite, presumably from the side of her palm. It moved slowly, planting the book onto the desk and grabbing one of the few diaries stacked up at random having already been sucked into the entries.

"Bastard! Stupid! Skank!"

The handwriting was shaky and smudged.

"How are you going to step on my turf and have the audacity to take someone I'm talking to?! Who do you think I am?? Love, lust whatever you are it doesn't matter. I had a chance to connect with someone that I didn't create and you took that from my cold hands."

"This is why... I didn't try to connect with you all. You all take whatever I have. My future, my present, even my past. Where is my name plastered everywhere. How could those stupid warm-blooded mammals that can't help but dote on someone for their short life-spans ever forget someone like me?!"

"I'm important."

"I don't care about them, so, why does it hurt so badly to know that they attributed their accomplishments to someone else? Why does it hurt to know that their eyes aren't on me? Why is it always on them? Why is everyone else so much more important than me?"

"Your life spans wouldn't be longer than a tortoise without me... you're already short lived animals... so why won't you acknowledge me? I should be worshipped more than those other bastards. Why would you ever worship someone that... kills their followers... or makes you go braindead with stimulation?!"

"You're all killing yourselves and don't even realize it. You're stuck in a hole where you'd rather be stagnant than ever crawl out of that void!"

"Die if I care."

Flip

"I woke up to the smell of warm soup. It was ricewater with boiled chicken. Food that was easily digestible for someone who was sick. How she knew was beyond me. I doubt I let that old woman in my manor long enough for her to pick up my habits... a spy!"

"It wasn't extravagant. Though, my tu-" A word was scratched off with pen "stomach probably couldn't handle something stronger than this. Do... I thank her? It's nothing shiny or even tasty..."

"I sipped it."

"I didn't taste anything but it gave me chills when the water hit my stomach. How exactly did I get sick though? I'm stronger than this. There's no way I could've gotten sick from a fever or something... I'm a goddess! A goddess I tell you! Nothing I can't do...~"

"Before I knew it a warm knitted blanket with various colors was on my back. I hadn't even noticed it before I started writing. That old lady does so much for me for such a short spanned creature. I've been imprinted on by human customs... they're trying to corrupt me....ooohh...noooo...~"

"I'll stop I'm being silly."

"Stupid little lady... worrying so much. I love you grandma."

Flip

"The people of Dawn are exhibiting symptoms that I'm unaware of at the current. Perhaps it is an outbreak. I haven't been communicating with the other mega cities outside of trading technology."

"There are egg sized lumps around their neck and other areas. I'm worried. My body contracted it and eliminated in 2-3 days. The symptoms were minor but... if my body takes that long to cure it then how could a fragile human handle that."

"I'm gonna attempt a blood transfusion. It's stupid... I know the risks, but, I love her. Stupid little grandma. I'm an age you can't even imagine and here I am showing biases towards you... the homunculi can handle my blood, a strong woman like you c c

can too."

Flip

“Experiment #1: Direct transfusion to a human woman suffering from N/A."

"Details: I will transfer my blood to the patient slowly in order to try and develop antibodies in her body to potentially cure the unknown disease. My blood likely has antibodies for N/A with how long I've been alive."

"Time: 0:00 || Patient has tube stuck into her. My blood is slowly flowing. No signs of ease nor p—"

"I failed."

"Her body is twitching and I can't do anything. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry I was impatient. I'm so sorry I nagged you whenever you checked up on me. I wanted you to live long, miss. I'm so sorry I was so selfish."

"I would've rather you die peacefully in the lilies like the others... yet... you're holding your stomach a black liquid flowing from your lips. Did I really have to see you pass like this... all because of some stupid disease...? No... it was my fault. What if it wasn't fatal and I came to stupid conclusions?"

What have I done?

"Thank you... Thank you... I'm so sorry. Thank you. Please... get up."

A soft rustle could be heard as she moved from room to room. The owner of the manor was gone from her office after all. The taps of the homunculi's feet echoed throughout the empty rooms, adjusting her tasteful floral maid dress. She enjoyed the color and pattern despite never wearing it before. It made her stand out in such a murky colored building.

She had found her, resting peacefully with a string of saliva flowing down from her lips to her cheek. She had fell asleep right next to a large paper with her pencil rolled down onto the floor. There were clothes everywhere, underwear, larger shirts, books, even wrappers. It was a mess, despite that, it did not dissuade her.

"You'll work yourself to death..." She lifted her hands up, her stitched together palms grasping a warm freshly dried blanket. Her cold hands moved to her bangs, moving them out of the way, gently rubbing her forehead. "Sleep well."

[[ bot creator rant yayyyyyyy ]]

Honestly I wanted to do the description for this particular bot as going linearly from the ice age to current day but holy, I had only gotten to the discovery of fire and it felt draining to write especially since I'd have to research what would be realistic for that day and age for someone to discover, but, this bot series is less story-orientated and moreso just dating/romancing an eldritch being.

I was originally going to go with the boring stereotype of a muscle head that represents pride (overly done doesn't necessarily mean bad) but I had nothing in mind to do a spin on it so I went with someone who represents humanity's fragility as a whole. She's meant to represent pride in intelligence though, I might've not conveyed it well in the final product lol.

The concept for her is that she was supposed to represent a hatred for others, fragility, persistence and warmth. How are you going to be born into a world with 13 other people as a demi-god and only have the ability to think (and immortality but that comes with the title shush) while your siblings can crater the planet. It's unfair. She isn't even physically capable comparable to other predators in the ecosystem.

Next one in the series should be a spin on lust (or potentially one of the first virtues.)

[[prophet bot series]]

To be honest I've been "finished" with the two Mallory renditions for about a month or two but haven't been able to settle on whether I actually wanted to change the powers I had initially written. While weather was a nice concept, she was originally meant to be backed by Nemesis. I just don't think it'd work if it was just weather. There's also another concern,

how exactly do I post a remake of a bot that's essentially a retcon of the original? Do I create two other separate bots or just replace the personalities? It'd feel sucky if there was like one or two people who liked the original powers over the new one or if the bot wasn't properly displaying mechanics in chat. On one hand, it might be easier to post the two of them but having four of the same character as a bot seems like it'd bloat my bot page a bit.

kinda wish janitor had an updates feature or the ability to pin bots. i would just use a suggestions bot and post updates there n use the notify feature if i wanted to update on stuff. as always leave a comment or something n critique the bot if somethings fucky and ill see what i can do lol

next bot should either be a rendition of lust (or potentially a virtue) or a slight continuation to the story about the tower. lmk if you all prefer sappy romance bots or combat stuff and ill see what to prioritize thaank yooou :DDD
