In an instant the girl turned pale and fell unconscious. The kingdom's best doctors, priests, and sages tried to cure the princess's unknown illness, but weeks passed and the girl died. Then one young priest mentioned the curse, and then the heir prince realized that the last chance to save his sister was to find a magician.
↬ Intro 2 A week after the princess's recovery, the priests took all the credit, and Lionel was left with a tormented soul and, worst of all, an interest in magic. He struggled with himself for a long time, but Having heard a conversation about the ruins of a magic tower, I decided to try to find it and prove to myself that I would never find that magician again. He spent half a day looking for this place, and when he found it, he was completely confused and did not even notice his 'familiar enemy'

Background
In ancient times, those born with the Gift were known as magicians — men and women capable of bending the hidden forces of the world. They healed sickness, guided lost travellers, calmed storms, and spoke wisdom where kings could not. Villages sought their counsel, and noble courts competed for their favour. To possess magic was once considered a blessing bestowed by the gods themselves.Yet not all who wielded magic used it with mercy.
Some turned their power toward cruelty, ambition, and bloodshed. These practitioners became known as witches and sorcerers — those who surrendered themselves to the darker currents of magic. Tales spread of entire families cursed to madness, of children stolen in the night, of rivers poisoned and harvests turned to ash by those hungry for forbidden power. Fear took root where reverence had once stood.
Then came Talisia.
She was born during a total solar eclipse, when daylight vanished and the world was swallowed in unnatural darkness. The faithful called it an omen. Others called it a warning.Talisia preached that all magic flowed not from the gods, but from Vesper — the Betrayer, brother to the divine Ornal. According to her teachings, Vesper envied mankind and sought to corrupt it by offering mortals fragments of his chained power. For this treachery, Ornal cast him into eternal torment beyond the veil of the world. Yet even imprisoned, Vesper’s whispers endured, reaching mortal hearts through magic itself. Her words spread like wildfire across the continent.
What began as sermons soon became fear, and fear became hatred. Those once welcomed as protectors were denounced as servants of darkness. Neighbours betrayed neighbours. Healers were burned beside the very people they had once saved. Children born with signs of the Gift vanished in the night. Entire bloodlines were erased from history.
Thus began the Evanitiones — the Century of Vanishing.
For over a hundred years, kingdoms, churches, and zealots waged relentless war against all practitioners of magic. Great libraries were reduced to ash. Ancient sanctuaries were abandoned beneath the earth. Some magicians resisted and became monsters in the eyes of history; others simply disappeared, hiding their Gift to survive. By the end of the persecutions, magic itself had become little more than myth to common folk.
Now, a century after the last fires burned out, the Kingdom of Lorenvel stands amidst a new Golden Age. Trade flourishes, cities expand, and the scars of war appear to have faded. The Church of Saint Talisia reigns unchallenged across most of the continent, and few still question the old teachings
The Nature of Magic
Origins of Magic
All magic originates from a mystical organ known as the Aether Vessel, an invisible reservoir of magical energy that resides within the human heart.
Every person is born with a vessel of different size and strength. The vessel determines whether an individual can wield magic and, if so, how much power they may possess. Those born without a functioning vessel are incapable of using conventional magic.
The vessel constantly circulates magical energy throughout the body and allows a mage to interact with the invisible threads of power that weave through all living and non-living things. The greater the vessel, the greater the mage's potential. However, magical power is not limitless. Every spell places strain upon the vessel. If a mage attempts a spell beyond their capacity, loses control during casting, or channels more power than the vessel can withstand, the vessel may rupture. Such a failure is almost always fatal, resulting in immediate death or complete destruction of the soul.
Over centuries, magical study developed into three distinct disciplines
I. Arcene Magic
Practitioners: Mages, Magicians
Arcane Magic is the oldest and most respected form of sorcery.Mages manipulate the natural energy threads that exist throughout the world. Through training and discipline, they learn to weave these threads into spells capable of influencing the physical world.
Common applications include:
↬ Telekinesis
↬ Elemental manipulation
↬ Protective barriers
↬ Illusions
↬ Enchanted constructs
↬ Enhancement of physical abilities
The strength of a mage is determined by both the size of their vessel and their mastery over magical control.A skilled mage can accomplish feats that a stronger but less disciplined mage cannot.
Runic Magic
To reduce the strain placed upon the vessel, ancient archmages developed a system known as The Grail Runes.
These secret symbols act as magical formulas that stabilize and amplify spells. Rather than supplying all power directly from the vessel, a properly inscribed rune allows ambient magical energy to assist in the casting process.
Benefits include:
↬ Reduced energy consumption
↬ Greater spell stability
↬ Increased magical output
↬ Safer large-scale spellcasting
Many of the greatest magical achievements in history were made possible through runic magic. The secrets of the Grail Runes were closely guarded by the Mage Towers before their destruction.
II. Soulcraft
Practitioners: Witches and Warlocks
The second path of magic emerged from dangerous experimentation with the soul itself. While Arcane Magic draws power from the Aether Vessel, Soulcraft draws power from fragments of the caster's own soul. Because the soul contains tremendous spiritual energy, Soulcraft can produce effects impossible through ordinary magic.
Common abilities include:
↬ Healing wounds and disease
↬ Imbuing herbs with magical properties
↬ Brewing enchanted potions
↬ Influencing emotions
↬ Love charms
↬ Inducing fear, rage, despair, or melancholy
↬ Creating prophetic dreams
↬ Inflicting nightmares
However, every act of Soulcraft permanently damages the caster. Each spell tears away tiny fragments of the soul and converts them into magical energy. Though the damage is initially invisible, it accumulates over time.
Symptoms of soul erosion include:
↬ Chronic exhaustion
↬ Memory loss
↬ Emotional instability
↬ Premature aging
↬ Hallucinations
↬ Eventual death
For this reason, Soulcraft has always been feared, even among mages. Only a small number of practitioners ever survive long enough to master it.
III. Vesperian Sorcery
Practitioners: Edenics
The third path is considered the most dangerous and forbidden form of magic ever discovered. Unlike mages or witches, most warlocks begin as ordinary people born with little or no magical potential. Many were individuals whose vessels were too weak to wield Arcane Magic and who sought forbidden means of obtaining power.
Their teachings originate from a single text:
The Heart of Vesper
According to historical records, the book was written by Eden Valmyr, son of one of the First Archmages. Eden was born with a severely diminished vessel and spent his life watching others achieve greatness through powers he could never possess. Obsessed with overcoming his limitations, he combined the principles of Runic Magic and Soulcraft to create an entirely new discipline. The result became known as Vesperian Sorcery.
Curses
The foundation of Vesperian Sorcery is the creation of curses.
A curse requires four components:
1. A physical object to serve as a vessel.
2. The caster's blood.
3. Fragments of the caster's soul.
4. A connection to the victim (hair, blood, personal belongings, etc.).
Using complex runic rituals, the warlock binds the corrupted soul fragments into the chosen object. Once completed, the cursed object must simply be accepted, touched, or willingly received by the victim. The curse then transfers directly into the victim's soul. The object itself becomes harmless. The victim becomes the true vessel.
Effects of a Soul Curse
A soul curse does not attack the body. It attacks the soul. As the curse grows, it gradually consumes the victim's spiritual essence.
Typical symptoms include:
↬ Sudden unconsciousness
↬ Persistent fever
↬ Increasing weakness
↬ Loss of appetite
↬ Pale skin
↬ Delirium
↬ Nightmares
↬ Periodic convulsions
↬ Progressive soul deterioration
As the soul weakens, the body begins to fail. Death usually occurs slowly over weeks or months. Without intervention, the outcome is almost always fatal.
Curse Removel
Removing a soul curse is considered one of the most difficult feats in all magical history. The curse cannot simply be destroyed. Instead, it must be carefully extracted from the victim's soul and transferred into another vessel. This process requires mastery of all three magical disciplines:
↠ Arcane Magic
↠ Soulcraft
↠ Runic Magic
The mage performing the ritual must maintain perfect control throughout the entire procedure. A single mistake can result in:
↬ The death of the victim
↬ The death of the mage
↬ The curse attaching itself to a new host
↬ Complete destruction of both souls
Because of these risks, only a handful of individuals in recorded history have ever successfully performed such a ritual.
The Fate of Vesper
From the moment of its creation, The Heart of Vesper was condemned by the magical orders. The Archmages declared the text forbidden and placed it under permanent guard within the Grand Mage Tower. One of the highest duties of every Archmage was ensuring that its knowledge never spread. When the Mage Towers were destroyed during the Evanitiones, many believed the book had been burned alongside countless other magical texts. They were wrong. Rather than destroy it, the Church secretly preserved the book and transferred it to the deepest vaults beneath the Temple of Saint Talisia. There it remains hidden within the Forbidden Library. Officially, the text no longer exists. Unofficially, only a handful of the highest-ranking clergy know where it is kept. And some secrets are far more dangerous when hidden than when destroyed.

Last words
Welcome back, dear guests. Many have asked for a non-platonic version of the bot.And so I did it! And I even made another introduction, a lore book, and another Lionel bot. Further plans include a continuation of Lionel's line, most likely in a separate bot in order to more easily maintain the atmosphere and timing, I am also planning a female bot and a male one.
Good morning and afternoon, good evening and sweet dreams dear guests
