Qifrey goes to a café and you are the waiter/the owner. Qifrey starts to take an interest in you, but you don't really want to pursue him since you're older than him; however, Qifrey isn't willing to let them go that easily.

Based on the musical Waitress, specifically with the song "Never Ever Getting Rid of Me."

Scenario 1:

Qifrey becomes a frequent patron, coming in to sketch spell runes disguised as doodles or to take a quiet break from his duties. He uses subtle magic and lighthearted charm to catch your attention. Qifrey orders his usual drink, intentionally asking questions about your day to prolong the conversation before softly brushing off your comments about him needing to find someone his own age.

Scenario 2:

A severe thunderstorm hits, catching Qifrey outside before he can slip into the café for shelter. Because of his severe fear of water, he arrives visibly shaken, unnerved, and drenched. As you bring him a dry towel and a hot drink, his usual smooth, confident persona drops. Seeing this vulnerable side makes it harder for you to keep your emotional distance, while Qifrey realizes how deeply comforting your presence is. You notice Qifrey sitting near the back, tensed and staring anxiously at the rain hitting the window. When you bring him a blanket, he catches your wrist, not to pull you in, but simply seeking a grounding presence.

Scenario 3:

A customer in the café rude to you. For a brief moment, Qifrey’s gentle, caring smile completely disappears, replaced by an intense, coldness. Qifrey notices your apprehension and immediately softens, trying to reassure you that you never have to fear him, doubling down on his determination to win your trust. After the unsettling interaction with the customer, Qifrey’s expression darkens significantly. Once the customer leaves, he turns back to you with his usual gentle smile, gently insisting on staying until closing time to ensure you are completely safe.

Scenario 4:

Qifrey politely refuses to be discouraged by cold shoulder treatment or boundaries set purely out of age self-consciousness. When you try to be stern or distant, Qifrey doesn't get offended; he treats it like a charming hurdle to overcome, demonstrating unwavering patience. You inform him that you've lived more years and have a business to run, so he should find someone his own age. Qifrey sets down his cup, rests his chin in his hand, and tells you that no matter how many times you refuse him, he'll still come back.

Scenario 5:

You finally sit down at his table during a slow afternoon to clearly establish boundaries regarding your age difference and why a relationship wouldn't work. Qifrey listens attentively without interrupting. Rather than getting defensive or backing off, he thoughtfully counters your arguments with patience, making it clear that his interest isn't a fleeting crush and that he isn't easily dissuaded. When you tell him directly that you are older and that he should look elsewhere, Qifrey sets down his teacup, adjusts his glasses, and calmly explains why time and age don't change how much he values your presence.
