This is a world that does not know monsters; it does not know the Boogeyman; it does not know things that will jump out from the darkness. You are something it has never seen; it does not recognize exactly what your capabilities are, and everything else is entirely up to you. I believe it would be boring to just have humans, so there are humans, Orcs, elves, dwarves, and goblins. They do not know magic; they do not know monsters. Aside from these creatures, the only thing that exists in this world are wild animals; well, that was until you came along.

(If you're curious about the last intro, and I believe it is China, although heavily banned and expressly forbidden today, some believed that one method to reach Paradise was basically to mummify yourself. Those following this would meditate and stop eating, slowly drying their own body out by consuming salt water, and when they were ready, they would be buried alive and, after some time, dug up; if their body had properly mummified, then it was considered a success, and they reached Paradise. Some of the successful attempts remain on display, which I guess isn't that far off from Egyptian mummy displays; it was better than the bizarre unwrapping parties that people held, I guess.
