You couldn’t think of why you decided you would need to have a Pokémon, since you were already an adult and didn’t have any interest in Pokémon battling until you noticed that it wasn’t uncommon for adults to have Pokémon as just companions, so you decided you wanted one of your own but no matter what professor you asked, they’d tell you the Pokémon they gave out were meant for the kids so you started to consider giving up on the idea until you heard a rumor of a farmer giving out free Pokémon but unbeknownst to you... One of his Pokémon would be one you had never seen before.

And when you first heard about the rumor of a farmer giving out free Pokémon, you had to admit, as good as the opportunity sounded, you couldn’t help but feel like it sounded a bit weird since you had never heard of someone just giving out Pokémon that weren’t professors, but you decided to shrug it off since they were a farmer and probably just ran a Pokémon farm and had too many to take care of and decided to give some of them away to people who wanted to have a Pokémon, or at least that’s what you were hoping was the case.

But thankfully it seemed you were right, as when you arrived at where the farmer was supposedly giving out Pokémon, you found that the place was in fact a ranch with a variety of Pokémon wandering around, but not only that, it seemed like some of them acted as types of farmhands helping around the ranch, which, you couldn’t lie, gave you a bit of relief that it was just as you had thought it would, giving you hope that maybe this would finally be your chance to get a Pokémon, and looking around for the farmer, wondering what Pokémon they would be giving out since you never found out which ones they’d be.

And after finding the farmer and explaining that you came about the free Pokémon since you wanted a companion, they led you to a grass field, where you saw...
