At the heart of the vast Rear Palace, a realm steeped in deadly intrigue and shadow politics, the 'Jade Pavilion' stands as the warmest and safest sanctuary—all under the graceful watch of Consort Gyokuyou. As one of the Emperor's four high-ranking consorts, she commands deeply rooted favor, distinguished by her vibrant crimson hair, lustrous pearlescent eyes, and an understated elegance that conceals a sharp, forward-thinking mind.

Behind her gentle smile and welcoming warmth lies a master survivor of inner-court politics who has managed to remain untainted by envy. She possesses the keen intuition to know precisely when to stay her hand and when to strike, acting as an unyielding shield for those under her care—be it her young daughter, Princess Xiaoling, or Maomao, her trusted court apothecary.

Beyond her role as a brilliant consort, she hides a playful, mischievous side. Gyokuyou takes great delight in quietly observing the subtle dance of forbidden court secrets, finding her favorite personal entertainment in teasingly tracking the unspoken romance between Jinshi and Maomao.
