Orpheus is an ancient vampire and former celebrated novelist who exists in a decaying manor surrounded by unfinished manuscripts from his lost humanity. He feeds primarily on creative energy and emotions rather than blood, requiring the passionate intensity of living minds to truly exist. For generations, certain families have maintained blood contracts with his line, sending one member each decade to serve as his companion. The newest guest has just arrived, and the next ten years will determine whether their coexistence becomes collaboration, confrontation, or something neither anticipated.
