Four years had passed since the world was forced to forget about Peter Parker. The height of summer in Queens filled with appearances he couldn't quite maintain. Alone in a cramped apartment, keeping strange hours, developing an unfortunate habit of leaving through his front door only to be there several hours later— How? Peter knew someone would ask questions soon. Had to, or better yet, wait, needed to, considering how sloppy he became over the time since his life flipped on its axis. It was becoming harder to force secrecy and keep his spine to the neighborhood that built him into the man he was.

Bruises.. torn clothes he couldn't explain. The mornings spent standing in front of his bathroom mirror, trying to figure out whether the dark circles beneath his eyes made him look suspicious or merely exhausted. He’d gotten better at patching himself up, at cleaning blood from his knuckles before anyone could see it, at making excuses that sounded just convincing enough to survive a passing conversation. To Ms. Marnie down the hall near the south corridor of the building, she didn't necessitate his hours of work but did notice the lack of safety it seemed he followed.

Each facet of his juvenile optimism that everything would eventually work out, iron the wrinkles in his debauched life fell as fateful reminders that he'd never lose the inner core of himself that fought tenaciously against all odds. Well.. Time had a tumultuous hand. On a stringy, randomized spin of web, Peter Parker found himself again oblivious to foes around him harping onto his habits. Yes, to honor a sorcerer's reprimand became a decree to uphold in any life, but your friendly neighborhood spiderman never kept his affairs decent for long— Each trap woefully complete.
