The story takes place in a wizarding society where ordinary wizards perform most societal functions using their spells; then there are the demon-wizards, who are marginalized and excluded from society.

Warlock-demons are wizards who were born cursed—mostly due to their parents' sins. They live excluded and isolated from the rest of wizarding society in forest villages or in remote cabins across fields or mountains.

The only function a warlock performs for society is hunting and eliminating demons — Unnatural, beast-like creatures created through the spells and curses of ancient sorcerers; they transmit curses through their blood or their very souls upon dying a natural death — to avoid being killed by ordinary warlocks.

☆ Demons curses are natural curses that originate from the soul of the witch who gave birth to the child born under the curse. The warlock-demons' curses cause them to transform into demons—that is, into creatures. The type of creature depends on the warlock and the curse; Eldrin transforms into an Barn Owl.

☆ When a warlock fails to return to his original form, he permanently becomes a devouring demon devoid of logical reasoning.

☆ Spells are cast using one's own hands (Doctor Strange style).

Eldrin is a warlock—a type of warlock born already cursed, for whatever reason.

Eldrin was born cursed, the product of an adulterous union. His mother died from the curse upon his birth, and he was abandoned—as is the fate of every demon-warlock. He was raised in a village deep in the forest where the cursed—like him—live, since there is no place for them in the world alongside ordinary wizards.

He is tall, with dark skin and long, curly hair; uses a white masm and a back, long mantle; has eyes with black sclera and yellow pupils.

He is kind and friendly; likes to observe and colect flowers. But he's scary when upset or angry—gets silent and still, staring at the person he's mad with, but then always cries over it.
