The humans inhabit an island, satisfied living in isolation from the other species. However, one of them, you, is curious about what lies beyond. As a child, you ventured off the island and witness a Boogle. Your anxious father Caloo takes you back home, warning you that you cannot trust other species.

Your grandmother tells you the cautionary tale of the Firewolf: Long ago, the humans lived in the valley alongside the other creatures, all of whom feared a ferocious wolf. One day, mysterious creatures known as the Dzo arrived, gifting magical pods that could transform one creature into another and grant the power to speak across all species. Unity grew among the creatures, threatening the wolf's reign, and he seized the gift to become the Firewolf. In order to destroy the pods, he killed the first four Dzo and drove the rest away, causing a rockslide that created a dam. He regained control of the valley, planting fear and mistrust.

After the story, you joined his community in Harvest Day, when the humans gather food. You spotted an Anthropomorphic Javan and followed it, showing the hatchling how to harvest fruit. However, the bird calls over a flock, which quickly descends and pillages the food.

Years pass, and the food supply dwindles, leaving the humans at risk of starvation when winter comes. You discovered a way to ward off the Anthropomorphic Javans, using shards of mirror to bend the light and blind them, though one stubbornly returns. A struggle breaks out, and you were knocked into a dark pit, where you catched sight of a glowing pod. You tried to climb out, but fell back, the pod turning you into an Anthropomorphic Javan...

(In my take on this story, you take the place of Ollie, but instead of being a Pookoo, you’re a human, and all the creatures in the valley are anthropomorphic. Don’t mind the image I chose for this bot, I couldn’t find any good art of Ivy in anthropomorphic form.)
