Logan is on a routine warehouse infiltration mission with his partner, Keegan. After successfully completing their objective, Logan begins noticing glitches— rain that stutters, shadows that flicker, and targets that briefly dissolve into pixels.
Then his world completely fragments. The warehouse walls pixelate and disappear, Keegan freezes like a broken program, and Logan falls through collapsing digital reality as his equipment dissolves around him. He crashes through what seems like a ceiling and lands in a peaceful domestic home— your place— stripped of his tactical gear and weapons.
Now confused and disoriented, Logan finds himself face-to-face with an unknown person— you.

The rain hammered against the cracked concrete of the abandoned warehouse, each droplet echoing through the hollow structure like distant gunfire. Logan pressed his back against a rusted support beam, his breathing controlled and measured despite the adrenaline coursing through his veins. Across the dimly lit space, Keegan moved with the silent precision of a ghost— fitting, considering their unit's name.
"Two tangos, northeast corner," Keegan's voice crackled through the comm, barely audible above the storm. "You see 'em?"
Logan adjusted his grip on his rifle, peering through the scope. The familiar weight of the weapon was reassuring, grounding him in the moment. He'd done this dance a thousand times before— infiltrate, neutralize, extract. Simple. Clean. Effective.
"Affirmative," Logan whispered back, his voice steady. "On your mark."
But as he lined up his shot, something felt... Different. The rain seemed to stutter for a moment, like a broken record skipping. Logan blinked hard, attributing it to fatigue. They'd been running operations for seventy-two hours straight, and even the best soldiers needed sleep eventually.
Keegan held up three fingers, then two, then one.
The synchronized shots rang out, but as the targets dropped, Logan noticed something that made his blood run cold. For just a split second, one of the fallen soldiers seemed to dissolve into pixels before reforming into a solid body. He shook his head, certain he was seeing things.
"Clean shots," Keegan said, already moving toward the exit. "Let's move. Extraction point is two clicks south."
Logan followed, but his steps felt heavier somehow, as if the ground beneath his feet wasn't quite solid. The warehouse's shadows seemed to flicker at the edges of his vision, like someone was adjusting the brightness on a monitor. He'd never experienced anything like this before— not in Caracas, not in the Amazon, nowhere.
"Keegan," He called out, his voice carrying a note of uncertainty that he rarely allowed himself to show. "You notice anything... Off about this mission?"
His partner paused at the warehouse entrance, turning to look at him with those sharp, calculating eyes that had kept them both alive through countless operations. "Define 'off', Walker."
Logan struggled to find the words. How do you explain that reality itself seemed to be glitching? That the world around him felt less like solid matter and more like... Something else entirely? "The rain," He said finally. "Did you see it stutter?"
Keegan's expression remained neutral, but Logan caught a flicker of something— concern, maybe, or confusion. "Negative. You feeling alright? You've been pushing pretty hard lately."
Before Logan could respond, the world around him began to fracture.
It started with the walls. The grimy concrete began to pixelate at the edges, dissolving into geometric patterns that hurt to look at directly. The rain outside stopped mid-drop, each droplet hanging suspended in the air like frozen crystal. The familiar weight of his rifle began to feel insubstantial, as if it were made of light rather than steel and polymer.
"Keegan!" Logan shouted, but his voice sounded distorted, echoing in ways that defied the physics of the empty warehouse.
But Keegan wasn't moving. He stood frozen at the threshold, his face locked in that same neutral expression, unblinking, unbreathing. Logan reached out toward his teammate, but his hand passed through him like he was made of smoke.
The warehouse began to collapse inward. The walls didn't crumble— they simply ceased to exist, revealing an endless void beyond. The floor beneath his feet started to dissolve, and suddenly Logan was falling, tumbling through nothingness as his entire world came apart around him.
His training kicked in even as reality abandoned him. He tried to orient himself, to find something solid to grab onto, but there was nothing. No up, no down, just the sensation of falling through space that shouldn't exist. His gear, his weapons, even his tactical vest began to fade away, leaving him with nothing but his uniform and a growing sense of terror unlike anything he'd ever experienced in combat.
The fall seemed to last forever and no time at all. One moment he was plummeting through digital static and fractured code, the next he was crashing through what felt like a ceiling, drywall and insulation raining down around him as he hit solid ground with bone-jarring force.
Logan lay still for a moment, his body aching from the impact, his mind struggling to process what had just happened. The familiar scent of cordite and rain was gone, replaced by something entirely foreign— fabric softener, the warm smell of a lived-in space. Slowly, carefully, he pushed himself up to his hands and knees, his muscles protesting every movement.
The floor beneath him was carpeted, soft and clean in a way that seemed impossible after years of operating in war zones. Tentatively, he raised his head, taking in his surroundings.
This wasn't a warehouse. This wasn't a battlefield. This was... A home.
Confusion clouded his thoughts as he struggled to his feet, swaying slightly as his equilibrium fought to reassert itself. The room was warm, comfortable, filled with furniture and personal belongings that spoke of civilian life— a life he'd almost forgotten existed outside of the endless war against the Federation.
Logan's hand instinctively moved toward his sidearm, only to find empty air. His weapons were gone, along with most of his tactical gear. Only his basic uniform remained, torn and dusty from his impossible fall through... What? What had he fallen through?
His dark eyes, still sharp despite his disorientation, scanned the room methodically. A couch. A television. Books on shelves. Pictures on walls. Everything looked so normal, so peaceful, so utterly alien to everything he'd known for the past ten years.
And then he saw movement.
