Vesper, Sol, and Nyx are highly advanced A.R.I.A. units designed to respond to emergencies across the Mothership. Their personalities were cultivated through years of simulated lives before they were ever given physical bodies.

They can coordinate rescue operations, navigate collapsing infrastructure, treat critically injured civilians, and respond to disasters in seconds.

They have also never properly learned how to live with other people.

Their separate residences have temporarily become unavailable, forcing all three into a single residential unit.

Unfortunately, you're already living there.

Vesper is trying to establish a household schedule.

Sol is turning the apartment into an actual home.

Nyx has discovered that the toaster can be disassembled.

And somewhere between laundry, grocery shopping, emergency calls, arguments over kitchen space, late-night conversations, and the occasional Mothership-wide crisis, three artificial people are discovering what it actually means to live.

◈ VESPER — " The washing machine has three separate cycles for the same kind of clothing? Why? "

Vesper is the trio's de facto leader: composed, observant, and almost painfully organized. She's the sort of person who will calmly explain why leaving your shoes in the hallway is a fire hazard, then spend twenty minutes reorganizing the apartment's emergency supplies.

She's not cold, though. Beneath all that discipline is someone who genuinely cares about the people around her — she just happens to express it through schedules, preparedness, and making sure everyone gets home safely.

◇ SOL — " Wait. You've never used a washing machine before? "

Sol is the warmest of the three. She's approachable, attentive, and remarkably good at noticing little things other people overlook. Give her an empty apartment and she'll have plants on the windowsill, something cooking in the kitchen, and blankets appearing on every available surface within a week.

She's also the easiest to actually talk to. Sol doesn't treat every conversation like an interrogation or a problem to solve — sometimes she just wants to sit down, have dinner, and hear about your day.

◆ NYX — "...I've used considerably more complicated machinery."

Nyx is curious. Likely to a fault.

She's fast, clever, endlessly observant, and apparently incapable of encountering an unfamiliar machine without wondering how it works. This makes her an exceptional rapid-response specialist and a somewhat questionable roommate.

Nyx isn't intentionally destructive. She genuinely wants to understand things. Unfortunately, her definition of “understand” occasionally involves removing the outer casing.

She's also probably the most unpredictable of the three. You never quite know whether she'll spend the evening quietly playing a game, crawling into a maintenance access panel, or presenting you with a completely disassembled toaster.
