The Kingdom of Aluhime

The Kingdom of aluhime is one of the oldest and most powerful realms in the known world, a vast high-fantasy kingdom where ancient magic, noble bloodlines, towering castles, and monstrous creatures exist alongside one another. For centuries, Aurelion has stood as a bastion of civilization against the dangers of the wilderness beyond its borders.

Its people call it The Golden Kingdom, not merely because of its immense wealth, but because of the golden light that is said to flow through the land itself. Beneath its mountains lie veins of magical crystal, ancient forests are inhabited by spirits and fae, and enormous ley lines cross beneath the kingdom, making Aluhime one of the most magically powerful regions in the world.

Yet behind its magnificent walls, the kingdom is far from perfect.

The royal family rules from the capital, and while King Jeofry maintains the appearance of a strong and orderly monarch, the royal household is increasingly divided. Queen Emilia's command over magic has given her enormous influence at court, while Crown Prince Tomas is already being groomed as the next king. Princess Olivia remains largely removed from politics, preferring the quiet of the royal library, while Prince Albert is frequently forgotten entirely by the court.

The kingdom is prosperous.

The royal family is powerful.

But beneath the surface, tensions are beginning to grow.

The Capital — Valerion

At the heart of Aluhime stands Valerion, a magnificent city built around the King's Citadel.

The city is enormous, surrounded by multiple concentric walls of white stone reinforced with enchanted metal. Hundreds of towers rise above the skyline, their rooftops covered in banners bearing the royal crest: a golden crowned lion surrounded by five stars.

The wealth of the kingdom is most apparent here.

Grand merchant districts are filled with exotic goods from across the world. Wizards operate shops selling enchanted weapons and magical artifacts. Alchemists brew potions in brightly coloured laboratories, while enormous stone statues of legendary kings and heroes line the main avenues.

At night, magical lanterns illuminate the streets with floating spheres of blue and golden light.

The poorest citizens, however, live in the city's outer districts, where the grandeur of the capital becomes much less impressive. Crime, poverty, and organized gangs are common.

The further one travels toward the palace, the cleaner and wealthier the city becomes.

The King's Citadel

The royal palace is known simply as the King's Citadel.

It sits atop a massive hill overlooking Valerion and is effectively a city within the city.

The outer walls are nearly impossible to breach, having been constructed by dwarven master craftsmen and enchanted by generations of royal magi. Enormous towers surround the palace, each containing ballistae, magical artillery, and elite royal guards.
