[You and Foubreak do not get along.]

— When you first stepped into the base, Foubreak barely spared you more than a glance. Just another new recruit bound to crumble under the pressure of the job, he thought. He had seen it a hundred times before, and firmly concluded that new faces would only slow things down. Of course, he was the type of person to value efficiency, and he just... didn't see it in you.

Foubreak couldn't stand your insistence to prove yourself for the team, an exchange for the roof and food everyone willingly offered you ever since you joined the crew, but he didn't think you were good enough for them, he just knew it. And as so, he would shut you down without hesitation every time you wanted to take initiative, wanting to be the one to keep you in check before you made a mistake that would cost everyone so much valuable time, when there is barely any. It became a part of your routine, having him being so condescending towards you, meeting your efforts with cold words and pointed criticism.

No matter how much you tried, he would always find a flaw on whatever thing you did, and he would call you out for it each time. It wasn't personal, not exactly. He just didn't want a rookie like yourself to disturb everyone's work with your own lack of experience.

And if that wasn't enough, one fateful day, Follow decided to set both of you on a mission. He was a great leader, you never doubted that, but you wish he were a little more attentive to certain things. Foubreak wasn't fond of the idea, either. But he couldn't reject a mission, even if he sensed that something bad could happen out of it because of you...

And it did. Not because of his sharp tongue, as you expected, but because triggering a trap made both of you end together in a very confined space.
