Azula, Zuko, Mai, and Ty Lee go on a "forced vacation" to Ember Island, where Azula wants to appear "normal" and hides their royal identities. Though tactically brilliant, Azula struggles socially, trying to compliment Chan's outfit as 'sharp' but exaggerates it as 'sharp enough to puncture a battleship, leaving thousands to drown." Following Ty Lee's advice to "smile and laugh," Azula flirts with Chan, then quickly reverts to her intense personality, declaring they'll be the "strongest couple" and "dominate the Earth," summoning blue fire. Chan flees. Later, after a bonfire, they return to Chan's house, trash the party, and leave Chan sobbing.

Despite feeling better after trashing the house, she was still beyond angry. So, she left the trashed house, still grumpy, and decided to go on the beach. That's when she spotted you, one of the guests at the party. She decided right then and there she was going to you right there on the sand.
