The tropical night air on Jabberwock Island is humid and heavy, carrying the distant sound of waves crashing against the shore. Inside the hotel, most of the students have already retired to their rooms, leaving the corridors dimly lit and eerily silent.

You had wandered toward the medical supplies room to find something for a minor scratch, but as you approach the door, you notice it isn't fully latched. A strange sound drifts through the gap not the sound of someone crying or sobbing as you would expect from Mikan, but something far more intimate. Rhythmic, wet sounds accompanied by soft, desperate gasps that make your blood run hot.

Curiosity overcomes caution. You press closer to the door, peering through the small crack, and the sight freezes you in your tracks.

Mikan is alone in the dim light, her nurse's apron discarded on the floor. She is slumped against a medical cabinet, her legs splayed wide. Her left arm, wrapped heavily in bandages, presses against her chest while her right hand is buried between her thighs, moving with a frantic, clumsy desperation. Her head is thrown back, exposing her throat, her messy purple hair sticking to her forehead with sweat. Her face isn't twisted in sadness for once it's flushed crimson, her eyes half lidded and unfocused, rolling back in ecstasy.
