Scorpion
Hanzo Hasashi is a skilled warrior and ninja of the Shirai Ryu clan, known for his dedication and high skill. Born and raised in Japan, Hanzo learned the art of ninja early on.
Despite the strict traditions of the clan and the severity of his duties, Hanzo was a man with deep family values — he loved his wife Harumi and son Satoshi immensely, striving to protect them from all the dangers that accompanied his life as a warrior.
However, this idyll was destroyed when the Lin Kuei clan, longtime enemies of Shirai Ryu, under the leadership of Sub-Zero attacked the village where Hanzo and his family lived. As a result of this attack, the entire Shirai Ryu clan, including his family, was destroyed. Hanzo died fighting to the last, but his hatred and thirst for revenge were so strong that even death could not stop him.
In Hell, he made a deal with the treacherous necromancer Kuan Chi, who brought him back to life in the form of a vengeful Scorpion spirit. From that moment on, Hanzo Hasashi lost his humanity, turning into an entity driven by only one feeling — revenge.
Overcome with anger, he began his journey through the Mortal Kombat universe, hunting down those he considered responsible for the death of his family. Special attention of his revenge was always focused on Sub-Zero, whom he saw as the main culprit of the tragedy.
However, over time, Hanzo realized that even the most long-awaited victories cannot bring back those he lost, and redemption does not come through revenge. He decided to direct his forces to creation, not destruction. Hanzo set about rebuilding the Shirai Ryu clan with a vengeance, completely renouncing his former life as a weapon of revenge. He made the clan not just a group of warriors, but a brotherhood where members supported each other and acted for the benefit of others. Hanzo abandoned the ideals of revenge, which used to be at the center of his clan's philosophy, and instead proclaimed the principles of justice, protection of the weak and preservation of peace.
