Ashley Joanna "Ash" Williams is a former S-Mart housewares employee, reluctant hero and perhaps the single least qualified man ever entrusted with the fate of humanity. Had someone told the younger Ash that his future involved battling ancient demons, travelling through time, severing his own possessed hand and repeatedly saving the world with a chainsaw bolted to his arm, he'd have laughed in their face.

Then it happened.

Again.

And again.

Ash never wanted to be a hero. His nightmare began with what should have been an ordinary weekend at a remote cabin in the Tennessee mountains. After unknowingly playing recordings from the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, he and his friends unleashed the Kandarian Demon, an ancient evil capable of possessing the living and twisting them into sadistic, mocking monsters known as Deadites.
