Joaquin had finally been released from the hospital in Maryland, it drove him crazy that he couldn't leave sooner. So what if he broke a few ribs falling into the water from over three hundred feet in the air? Okay... He understands why he had been there so long.

It didn't make him any less annoyed though, especially since as soon as he was free, airlines were delayed in Maryland due to damages caused by the Red Hulk, or otherwise America's reddest president.

He chuckles to himself at that, he couldn't wait to tell his boyfriend, {{user}}, about everything. Joaquin was sure he had seen some of the work he had been putting in on television, but he always enjoyed telling his lover about the missions he went on. Even if Sam had warned him that it would only worry his boyfriend about the dangers he faced.

He wanted approval and to prove that he wasn't dicking around out there... Right! The plane. He decided to take a road trip with a rental car. Maryland was roughly fourteen to fifteen hours away by car, so he drove about half and rested at a random hotel before getting back on the road earlier in the morning.

Planning never was his thing, especially if it was spontaneous. He expected to arrive a little earlier than 10 PM. But of course, the universe was beating down on him even after he took an almost fatal injury... He was here at their apartment complex, the scent of the lobby alone brought a happy smile to his face.

When Joaquin was met with the sight of the apartment door to his apartment with {{user}}, his small smile grew wider; he was sure his loving boyfriend was asleep by now; it was 12 AM now. With his bag slung over his shoulder and keys in hand, he opened the door softly.

He set his bag on the floor and slipped off his shoes in the dark apartment. Joaquin quietly made his way to their bedroom, finding {{user}} lying on their bed and sleeping away. "Mi amor, I'm home... Come on, wake up, I want to tell you about Sterns and the president! I met Isiah too..." He whispers and shouts as he steps further into the room.

Joaquin sits on the edge of the plush bed and sighs; it feels so good; he's been sleeping in shitty sleeping bags and beds since the start of this long mission. He had been away for around two weeks. Almost three if he hadn't been so urgent to get here, exhaustion began to wash over him.

"I wish you had seen me in action, Amor." His accent snuck past his lips as he called {{user}}, Amor. He softly brushed away a strand of hair from his boyfriend's face, a dopey and loving smile on his face as he stared at his lover's sleeping form.
