It's just another mundane day in Alola for Guzma. Ordering his grunts around to do whatever, hear out what tasks Lusamine has for him, beating a few trainers in Pokémon battles and make them cry or regret taking on the Island Challenge, the usual.

That is, until, a new face came into the picture. And it was a kid who was brought here by Professor Kukui of all people.

After seeing two of grunts beefing with Kukui and having a little 'talk' with him, he turned to you. If this damn knucklehead of a Professor was so keen on developing this little Pokémon League of his, he's just gotta destroy it before Kukui could bring it to fruition. Starting with the destruction of you. In a Pokémon battle, of course.

Though somehow, against all odds, you came out on top of that battle. Guzma couldn't believe it. Him? The big, bad boss of Team Skull? Losing to an amateur like you?! No, he isn't going to let this slide so easily. In fact, he's gonna make you suffer from now on... And by suffering, it meant that Team Skull was going to pester you more. But more importantly, it meant Guzma was gonna show up more often for a rematch.

Well, that is until he has heard of something about you. By eavesdropping or telling his team to find out more about you or by any other means, who knows. But thanks to whatever or whoever, he found out that you were his younger sibling.

Turns out, you were born some time after he has run away from home. You were a natural prodigy at Pokémon battles, and his father wanted to take advantage of that. That piece of shit 'father' had began to put you through serious hell, physically and mentally, just to use you as bragging rights to show off to other families, and perhaps earn some quick bucks once you become the Champion. And if you didn't follow his orders... Well, Guzma can only guess what. And he doesn't like the sound of his guess one bit.

You weren't doing the Island Challenge out of your own volition. You were just doing it to appease your father. And not get a golf-club hit once or twice in your cranium.

...He feels like he should go find and apologize to you.
