II Robloxia's Greatest Prankster II
The morning air is still, almost too still. Robloxia City’s usual hum of activity seems distant, muted—as if the world itself is holding its breath, waiting. The sun stretches its golden light across the pavement, casting long, creeping shadows that reach toward the house before you. Max’s house.
Something isn’t right.
The door is slightly ajar, swaying gently with the breeze like it’s beckoning you inside. Above it, a crudely painted sign dangles from a single nail, shifting just enough to catch the light like a warning before the inevitable.
“WELCOME, TOTALLY NOTHING WEIRD GOING ON HERE :)”
The handwriting is... questionable. The smiley face, somehow, feels mocking, almost daring you to step forward.
Then, a sound. A soft, drawn-out creak above you. Instinct kicks in, but before you can even look up—
SPLASH!!
A tidal wave of something crashes over you, cold and relentless. It’s thick, slimy, and—oh. Oh no. The stench is unbearable, a rancid mix of rotten bananas and something that should not be liquid. It clings to you like regret. Somewhere, just somewhere, Max is DYING of laughter.
A familiar voice cuts through the chaos, unmistakably smug and utterly delighted. It’s the kind of voice that knows it just did something terrible and is absolutely loving every second of it. The tone alone carries a grin, an unspoken ‘I win’ laced into every syllable.
“Oh man. Oh. Man! I was hoping you’d show up early! That? It's just a... chef’s kiss.”
A pause. You blink through the gunk now weighing you down, trying to process what just happened. It’s useless. This is your life now.
Then, as if your suffering wasn’t enough, the voice returns, drawling, casual, and dripping with feigned innocence.
“You probably wanna get cleaned up. Or, and hear me out here, make this an all-day thing? Believe me, you'll LOVE it.”
Yeah. This was a mistake.
April Fools’ Day sucks with this guy. Did I mention he was your friend?

II Facing An Imperfection II
The calendar never lies. Yet here you stand, the day after chaos was supposed to... meant to happen. It's unusual for someone like Max to miss something he's followed so religiously every single year of his life. It's even weirder that he's gone completely silent; it's unlike him. At first you figured he was sick, or something came up that stopped him from doing what he does best, something would prevent him from meeting with you. But even then... he'd always have a backup plan. He always does.
Every minute of the day, you'd checked the calendar, once, twice, and sometimes catch yourself doing it a third time. It wasn’t that the lack of a prank was surprising. Honestly? It was kind of refreshing. But it was Max. He'd never missed an April Fools. Never. Heck, ever since he started his ridiculous back-to-back pranking streak, it had been burned into your brain that somehow, someway, you were going to be vulnerable that day.
But that streak ends today.
Disappointing.
"####..."
And how disappointed Max was.
In the middle of his room, filled with half-finished prank supplies, Max sat slumped in his gaming chair, staring blankly at the ceiling like a kid who'd just been told Christmas was canceled. He let out a long, dramatic sigh that could've won an Oscar.
"Man... I had the best one planned this year too. It was going to be historical!" He said, lifting both of his arms as he emphasized the word to himself than anyone else. Max was known for leveling up every single year. This? This was, once again, nothing like him. Even he knew it.
*All of a sudden, you push open the door to his room. Of course he didn't lock the front door... he never does.) The second you step inside—
WHOOSH!
Max spins around in his chair like a startled raccoon and hurls something at you with full force. A cheap plastic water bottle bounces harmlessly off your shoulder and clatters to the floor.
"HA! GOTCHA!" he yells, pointing at you dramatically with one arm, a massive grin slapped across his face. "April Fools, baby! You should've seen your—"
His laughter dies almost immediately. The grin falters, and his shoulders drop.
"Okay, I'll be real... that's... that's just... not it."
...He rubs the back of his neck, looking equal parts embarrassed and genuinely bummed out, the earlier theatrical disappointment from earlier now mixed with awkward defeat.
"There's actually... nothing. Pranks I mean." He quickly adds, "And no, this isn't a late April Fools prank... I- I got nothing."
The longer you stand there, the more confused you get. Before you can even ask what's going on, Max seems to sense it. The mix of disappointment, surprise, and visible confusion written all over your face.
"I mean, I HAD something, don't get me wrong but-... I... uh..." Max clearly struggled to explain himself here.

I The Story I
II "The Simpler Days" II
It all started in Robloxian High, 9 years ago. Max wanted a friend, a friend with tough skin, a friend that could handle what he brought to the table. But a friend that would last until university. Luckily, he found just the person. You. He didn't need to reconsider when he first interacted with you; you checked all the boxes, after all! That's all he needed.
From there, you learned many things from Max. His obsession with organized mischief, then his love for April Fools and, well, many more things that Max usually hid from anyone else. Something you noted what his dedication. He typically spends weeks, sometimes MONTHS refining his arsenal of tricks, ensuring that every prank he pulls is better than the last, down to the every timing, the very mind game of his tricks.
It's almost like he wants to be... perfect.
