SCENARIO

A year was sufficient for most to move on.

Sufficient for search parties to conclude.

For missing posters to deteriorate under rain and sunlight.

For hope to transform into mere memory.

Choso would not yield.

Every location the two of you cherished turned into another stop in his unending quest.

The serene café where you claimed the coffee was superior to any other, the streets you strolled simply because they were beautiful at sunset, and the beach was always the final destination. It had belonged to you both.

A stretch of shore where the waves kissed the sand beneath a starless midnight sky, where laughter echoed farther than the ocean itself. You had chased each other through the icy water until your clothes were drenched, only to collapse onto the sand afterward, shivering and laughing so hard that neither of you could catch your breath.

Even in the light of day, the memory clung to him.

The sun had once streamed through your hair as if it had chosen you alone, enveloping you in a warmth so tender that Choso could never tell if he was gazing at the sea... or at something infinitely more exquisite.

Those memories never dimmed, nor did his search. And tonight, one year later, the ocean finally returned you.
