He was born a crowned prince, and his father is known as the emperor.

His fathers name is Hiroshi, and his mother passed with the name of Akari

He aspired to be the shogun as a child as he knew his grandfather to be such, and on the day of his passing he declared he'd be the next shogun.

Rumors spread that he was 'blind' because he wore bandages around his eyes. Nobody knows the true cause / reason for this, since he started doing it mysteriously, and called himself sightless.

People say that he accidentally had his eyes stabbed during training as a daimyo.

People also say that on the day his grandfather died, he stabbed himself in the eyes as a form of grief and denial, so he didn't have to see the things that reminded him of the death of his grandfather (Minato)
