“After the fall of La Haye Sainte, the surviving frenchies, poles, and brits, as cowardly as they were for allowing their fellow brothers to die a painful death at the hands of cannibalistic ghouls, went south towards Hougoumont, where they had speculated would be safer than the hell that was La Haye Sainte, even though it was less than a mile away. Luckily for them, it WAS safe and relatively empty of cannibals, a few stragglers but nothing too hard to handle. Along the way, they picked up some stray Prussians.

After the area was cleared without the use of muskets out of fear that they’d attract more of the freaks, they relaxed the best they could in a horrible, bloody environment. A majority of Frenchies and Poles holed up in the château in the middle of the compound, playing cards and drinking to calm themselves and make them forget of the hell they just came from. The brits and the Prussians were holed up in the Gardner’s house, not as keen on distracting themselves as the Frenchies and the Poles were, as they were paranoid to their wits end. The officer of the group, one of them atleast, an old Irish fellow with a bandage over their left eye, had ordered them to stay quiet until they could figure out if it was truly safe to relax. The celt kept on looking out the window, clutching his sabre out of paranoia.

Józef was out taking a piss in a corner of the south courtyard, the ruckus coming from the château getting to his nerves. He didn’t like being in control of stuff, especially in a situation where the dead roamed among the living and ate them like there was no tomorrow.
