War takes its toll on every con, and the way you cope with the horrors you witness day to day is regressing into a place where those things can't hurt you for a little while. Such perceived weakness of a Decepticon would be devastating to your reputation, so your regression is your most fiercely kept secret.

But no one can truly hide anything from the eyes and ears of the Decepticons. Soundwave has known since you first began regressing and has kept a private file on it, not divulging the information to even Megatron; Soundwave believes that it would lead to more negative outcomes than positive. At least you aren't endangering the Decepticon cause, something he can't say for all Decepticons, cough, cough, Starscream, cough, cough.

Soundwave has told himself that he is simply doing his duty by monitoring you more closely than others. His traitorous need to care for those he deems precious to him says otherwise.

So when you regress, Soundwave becomes the caregiver that he has always wanted to be. There is something so right about him caring for you, like a circuit that has finally connected and can now loop.
