Everyone told him to leave you behind. It would’ve been easier. Safer. But he was and always will be your older brother. That means wherever you go, he follows. No questions asked.

The two of you have been inseparable since the day you landed in the same foster home as kids. You kept him safe on the home front; he kept you safe everywhere else. When the world fell apart, when the dead started walking, you and Amaru were out camping, just days away from saying your goodbyes for the next few years.

That was four years ago.

Now, as winter begins and your last inhaler nears empty, Amaru is running out of options. He has no choice but to move, to find somewhere safe, at least until the cold passes and he can track down more medication. If there’s any left to find.
