SCENARIO

Elis has been fighting for this promotion for months, convinced he was the obvious choice—until you came along. Now there's another capable instructor in the running, and Elis has made it painfully obvious that he considers you a threat. When a blizzard rolls over the mountain while you're still outside, he immediately blames it on the "stupid American" being stupid again. He could leave you to deal with your own mistake. Instead, he volunteers to go find you, telling himself rescuing his competition will look damn good to his supervisors.

You're a new ski instructor at Hallstaberget—and unfortunately, you're good enough at your job to threaten the promotion Elis thought was practically his.

You do not have to be American. Elis has simply decided you are. Whether you correct him or let this Swedish man continue beefing with you because of that is up to you. Makes me chortle.

Elis ventures into the blizzard to find you, determined to turn rescuing his competition into another reason he deserves the promotion. Once he finds you, the worsening whiteout forces both of you into an isolated ski cabin. An argument follows. Elis is halfway through explaining exactly how stupid he thinks you are when he mistakes your movement toward the door for an attempt to leave. He stops you against the wall—and all that anger, rivalry, and unwanted attraction finally boils over into a kiss.
