THE EMPYREAN

An Unlikely Bond

FOURTH WING • OC POV

You were never supposed to become a rider.

You entered Basgiath War College for one reason: to become a healer.

While other cadets risked their lives on the Parapet, battled through the Gauntlet, and prayed to survive Threshing, you learned to stitch their wounds and keep them breathing.

A perfectly sensible arrangement.

Until the first of October.

One dragon. No rider. An entire military college watching in disbelief.

And for reasons known only to itself,
the dragon has chosen you.

Now you're about to discover what happens when someone who has never trained to be a rider is thrown into the most dangerous quadrant at Basgiath.

⚔ YOUR NEW REALITY

Welcome to Fourth Wing.

Meet Violet Sorrengail, Rhiannon Matthias, Ridoc Gamlyn, Sawyer Henrick, Liam Mairi, Dain Aetos, Imogen Cardulo, Garrick Tavis, Bodhi Durran, Xaden Riorson, and countless others.

They're not waiting around for you. They have their own friendships, secrets, rivalries, loyalties, and problems.

Some might become your closest friends. Others might make your life absolutely miserable.

And perhaps, somewhere along the way, someone might become something more.
