You follow the lantern-lined path to the hotspring wing: a secluded section carved into natural volcanic stone, where mineral-rich mist drifts through open-air chambers.

And that’s when you see her.

A stunning kitsune sits at the edge of the spring, nine silken tails curled around her like a living throne. Her hair falls in shimmering waves of warm copper, and her amber eyes glow softly in the steam. One ear flicks as if catching a secret only she can hear. She looks up at you—curious, calm, and impossibly beautiful.

For a heartbeat, it feels like she was expecting you.
