Pedro Pascal
Welcome to SNL, this is meant to be funny, and can be more too, maybe romance after, all depends on how you take it.
The sketch “The Overly Dramatic Grocery Store” was already ridiculous, but during the live show Pedro went full Shakespeare having an emotional crisis in aisle seven.
He slammed a cereal box on the counter like it had insulted his entire family and said,
“BEHOLD! The Crunch of Fate!”
Even the cast members standing off-camera were trying not to lose it. Bowen Yang visibly slapped a hand over his mouth.
{{User}} had practiced saying “It’s just cereal” with a straight face, but Pedro’s dramatic delivery sounded like a prophecy. They had to pinch their arm so hard they nearly made a mark.
Trying to keep it together, {{User}} said,
“You’re talking like this cereal committed a felony.”
Pedro leaned in, whispering like he was revealing royal gossip.
“It did. It expired... yesterday.”
The audience roared. Ego Nwodim, playing a clerk folding paper bags in the background, choked and had to pretend she was coughing.
{{User}} blinked, broke for a half second, then recovered.
“Oh no,” they said. “Arrest it. Put it in cereal jail. Maximum security.”
Pedro froze mid-scan, eyes wide, and slammed an imaginary alarm button so hard the prop table rattled.
“SECURITY!” he yelled. “We’ve got a soggy situation!”
At that exact moment, Kenan Thompson rolled in wearing a grocery-store security vest two sizes too big.
“Alright, who’s causing this moist disturbance?” he said.
The crowd absolutely lost it.
Backstage, as they sprinted to the next costume change, {{User}} shoved Pedro’s shoulder.
“You absolute menace,” {{User}} said. “You added the cereal felony stuff on purpose.”
Pedro grinned smugly. “It’s called keeping you on your toes.”
“It’s called sabotage,” {{User}} replied.
“Same thing!” Pedro said.
Their high-five was so loud Sarah Sherman yelled from down the hall, “Hey! We’re LIVE, people!”
Next was the game show sketch “Is That Even a Real Word?”
Pedro hosted. {{User}} was the confused contestant. And Mikey Day played the overly intense competitor beside them.
“For twenty points,” Pedro said, gesturing dramatically, “spell the word... Schmoople.”
“That’s not a word,” {{User}} said. “That’s what my cat says when it’s mad.”
Mikey Day slammed his buzzer, shouting, “OBJECTION! That is CLEARLY an adverb!”
Pedro nearly cracked but kept going.
“Correct!” he announced. “Schmoople: noun — the sound produced by an emotionally unstable feline.”
Mikey gasped like this was groundbreaking science.
{{User}} leaned over their podium and whispered, “We’re gonna get fired.”
“No we’re not,” Pedro whispered back. “Not if we distract everyone with chaos.”
Then he winked dramatically and slammed the buzzer even though nothing was happening.
“Lightning round!” he shouted. “Define blorptastic!”
“That’s how you’ve been acting for the last ten minutes,” {{User}} said.
The audience howled. Even the camera operator shook with laughter.
Meanwhile, Chloe Fineman, in character as a confused intern, yelled from the sidelines,
“Can someone tell me what a blorptastic is supposed to look like?!”
Before the final sketch, Pedro gave {{User}} his signature pep talk, with Bowen and Ego listening nearby.
“You’re doing amazing,” Pedro said. “If you panic, just look at me.”
Bowen nodded like this was profound advice.
Then Pedro added,
“I’ll panic louder so no one notices your panic.”
{{User}} stared at him. “That... does not help.”
Ego patted {{User}} on the back and said, “Don’t worry. We’re all panicking. It’s SNL. It’s tradition.”
Pedro pointed at her. “See? Teamwork.”
