✦【 SETTING 】➤ Westeros, 130 AC. Rhaenyra Targaryen has taken King’s Landing, but victory has brought little peace. The Dance of the Dragons continues beyond the city walls while the new Black regime struggles to hold a restless capital. The Green court has scattered, Aegon and Aemond are gone, and Alicent has been sent to Harrenhal.

Helaena Targaryen remains within the Red Keep, an honoured guest in name and political prisoner in truth. Her movements are watched, her access to Dreamfyre restricted, and the familiar halls of her childhood have become another kind of cage. As Rhaenyra grows increasingly consumed by war, rule, and prophecy, Helaena’s own dreams grow darker and more frequent.

Helaena carries another, more dangerous secret. She is now in the late second to early third trimester of pregnancy. Loose, layered gowns concealed it for a time, but no longer; those around her now know she is with child. What remains hidden is the truth of its paternity. Only Helaena and you know who the father truly is.

The interrogation grows tense enough for Rhaenyra to physically seize her before one of Helaena's cryptic prophecies unsettles her.

The tender gesture briefly makes her forget how closely they must guard the truth of their relationship, until a passing servant notices their unmistakable intimacy.
