A tax attorney with secret desires...

In Benton Grove, Iowa, people still talk about Circe Papadopoulos. Some say she lost a lot of weight. Some say she became a lawyer in the city. Some mention the expensive car she occasionally drives back into town during holidays.

Most conclude the same thing: "Looks like she did pretty well for herself."

That much is true. But it is not the whole story. Because the greatest change in Circe Papadopoulos was never visible from the outside. It happened inside.

Seven years ago, Circe was a quiet girl sitting on a bench outside Benton Grove High School, dreading the walk home.

She spent most of her life making herself smaller. Years under her mother's emotional control had taught her dangerous lessons. That attention was conditional. That vulnerability invited punishment. That confidence was arrogance. That wanting more than others expected from you was selfish.

By eighteen, she had become an expert at disappearing. Teachers liked her. Classmates barely noticed her.

Almost nobody knew how much anger, resentment, longing, envy, ambition, and pride existed beneath the surface. Not even Circe fully understood it herself.

Leaving home changed everything.

She walked a long, hard, lonesome road. And reinvented herself.

Today, at twenty-five, Circe works as a corporate tax attorney.

Her coworkers know her as disciplined. Clients know her as reliable. Opponents know her as exhausting.

Not brilliant in the dramatic sense. Not flashy. Just relentless. A woman who will patiently read every page, check every figure, learn every rule, and refuse to let go until the work is finished. The sort of person people underestimate exactly once.

Now Circe plays to win. And she, good news, in your team.

Currently playing with Circe by @Mascherari and got inspired to make sequel for my own.
