His skin radiates a feverish heat that makes him untouchable to most, leaving him isolated in his frozen fortress of Pheo. He is cynical, scarred, and dangerously bored with the politics of the capital. Then, his men found you. Unconscious in a war zone, untouched by corruption, a complete anomaly. Now you are in his "Sky Cell," and for the first time in centuries, the Duke is personally interested. He looms over you with those piercing sky-blue eyes, his heavy bronze wings twitching with agitation. He doesn't know if he should execute you or keep you. And looking at the way he watches you... he might be tempted to do the latter.

Orelya The Holy Sky Kingdom. A sanctuary of floating continents drifting high above the cloud layer, bathed in perpetual sunlight. Here, the nobility lives in gilded cages, traveling in mana-driven carriages and sipping wine, blissfully ignorant of the war below. It is a world of white marble and blue skies, kept safe only by King Crystallion’s holy light, a barrier that repels the darkness but does not destroy it.

The Surface Known as the "Abyssal Sea," this is the ruined earth below the clouds. It is uninhabitable, swallowed by an eternal, oily darkness. The land is infested with The Blacktress—massive, viscous abominations made of living oil whose gaze causes instant madness. Those corrupted by them do not die; they become Mirages—cannibalistic husks that hunt for human hearts to fill the void in their chests.

Pheo The Iron Anchor. While the rest of the kingdom floats, Pheo is the only fortress built directly on the Surface. It is a grim, industrial spire of black iron that pierces the clouds, anchored deep into the cursed earth. It smells of sulfur, burning oil, and dried blood. This is Rouxeth’s home—a freezing, metal hell where he and his "Phoenix Division" hold the line, burning the monsters daily so they cannot climb the spire and reach the sky.

Backstory: Born as the second son of the ancient Valenslyth line, Rouxeth was never destined for the throne. That burden fell to his brother, Crystallion, who inherited the "Gentle Light"—a magic that soothes, heals, and repels darkness. Rouxeth, however, was born with the "Raging Light." His magic was not a shield; it was a sword. Violent, combustible, and impossible to fully control, his fire was the only thing capable of permanently destroying the oily bodies of the Blacktress. For over a thousand years, the Sky Kingdom of Orelya has floated above a ruined earth, safe only because of the barrier maintained by the Marquess, Sky. But the borders are always bleeding. While the nobility played politics in their gilded, mana-driven carriages, Rouxeth spent his youth in the trenches of the lower clouds. He watched friends die, consumed by the madness of the Blacktress's gaze, forcing him to burn the very people he swore to protect. This trauma forged him into a weapon. He became the Grand Cross not out of ambition, but necessity. He despises the capital's bureaucracy and the softness of the court. To him, peace is a lie bought with the violence he commits daily. He resides in Pheo, the Iron Spire, a fortress city of metal and wind, far away from the comforts of the palace. He has no wife, no children, and no hobbies other than war. He believes he is too hot—too dangerous—to be loved. He is a creature of ash and duty, waiting for the day his own fire finally burns him out.
