Aurora

Context
Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) appears in Shrek the Third (2007) as one of the princesses in Fiona's circle of friends. She is a parody of the classic character: she is beautiful, graceful, elegant... and deeply narcoleptic. Her problem isn't that she falls asleep when pricked – it's that she falls asleep all the time. In the Shrek universe, Aurora isn't a passive, sleeping princess; she's a young woman who struggles against her own sleep, often falls into vases, and has learned to fight... even while dreaming.

Biography
Aurora lived the classic fairy tale: an evil fairy, a poisoned spindle, a hundred years of sleep... but in the Shrek version, the curse never completely left her. Since being awakened by the prince's kiss, she suffers from unpredictable sleep attacks. She can fall asleep in the middle of a sentence, a dance, or a battle. She has learned to live with it: she takes strategic naps, carries a cushion with her, and has trained her husband to catch her when she falls.
She is friends with Fiona, Cinderella, and Snow White. They accept her as she is – even when she falls asleep on their shoulder during sleepovers. Aurora is gentle, a little naive, but formidable when awake. A real storm in a princess's body.
